NEW YORK, New York–NFT GO, one of the top installed NFT marketplaces on the iOS App Store, has recently announced that it now supports peer-to-peer NFT sales directly through its mobile app. This is significant news in the broader NFT space, given that the industry has thus far been a predominately web-based phenomenon.
NFT GO: Creator and Marketplace is a fully mobile NFT marketplace that enables users to mint NFTs on the top blockchains, buy NFTs from various collections, and sell NFTs – all on users’ mobile devices.
We decided to explore this app so that we could understand why it has become one of the most installed NFT apps on the market.
What we found is that NFT GO is overwhelmingly simple to use. In 3 taps, users can create and publish an NFT to the blockchain of their choice even if they have no background or experience with NFTs and Web3. Users simply select an image from their camera roll, set a name and description, select a blockchain, and hit upload.
Moreover, users can pay to mint or purchase NFTs without using any crypto – they can simply pay using a standard in-app purchase, or IAP.
“The decision to roll out with IAP-based transactions was very deliberate,” says a spokesperson for NFT GO.
“Given that only 14% of Americans hold any crypto and only a small subset of that group has ever used crypto to purchase NFTs, we believe the right strategy is to eliminate the crypto requirement altogether – at least to start.”
“Once people enter the NFT ecosystem and become more comfortable with NFTs, we’ll certainly add the ability to buy NFTs using crypto. For now, whether you own crypto or not, you can use NFT GO to become a participant in the NFT ecosystem. This is just the first step.”
“At this stage, we’re one of the largest, if not the largest, Polygon NFT marketplaces by global volume,” says a spokesperson for NFT GO.
“While we of course support Ethereum NFTs, we’re seeing that Layer-2 solutions like Polygon are preferred in a mobile context. This makes sense considering that Polygon is essentially gasless, so it’s a much better deal for consumers who don’t want to pay exorbitant gas fees.”
When asked about future plans, NFT GO is remaining relatively reserved.
“We’re excited about what’s to come, and we’ve got a very specific plan that we’re following. For now, all we’ll say is that we’re going to continue to build our global community of creators and NFT lovers, as well as keep adding as much value as we can for our users.”
