From being a well-known child actress to being one of the world’s most formidable attorneys – it would seem like Australian-American Kelly Hyman has done it all. Born in the sunny streets of Miami Beach, Florida, Kelly was raised by a single mother, who was, at that time, a struggling professional. Her mother ended up teaching American actor and political activist Charlton Heston tennis lessons, which became a turning point for the then five-year-old Kelly after her mother asked Heston if he could get Kelly an agent.

Despite being pretty young, Kelly became a household name in the entertainment industry and appeared in several hit television shows, commercials, and plays. Among her most noteworthy accomplishments included starring on John Astin’s pilot episode for Getting There in 1980, being part of Charles Matthau’s comedy film Doin’ Time on Planet Earth in 1988, and her participation on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, released in 1986, in which she was nominated for the Young Artist Award in the category of Exceptional Performance by a Young Actress in a Daytime Series.

Even after the whirlwind of triumphs that she experienced in the entertainment industry, Kelly made it a point to focus on her education. Sure enough, she received a BA in Communication at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1998, followed by her achieving a Master of Arts in Communication at Barry University in 2000. Later in 2003, she was granted the Juris Doctor degree at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Still, before ultimately graduating college, Kelly took the chance to serve at the White House as an intern in the Office of Presidential Inquiries, which launched her to obtain numerous opportunities.

Throughout Kelly’s legal career, she was able to work for well-known law firms such as Kozyak, Tropin, & Throckmorton Law Firm, and Searcy, Denney, Scarola, Barnhart, & Shipley, PA. In addition, she also served as a law clerk for the former U.S. District Court Judge Brian Sandoval, and Judge Wendell Graham for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court. Following her bustling profession, Kelly became President of the Federal Bar Association in Palm Beach County, Florida, from 2017 to 2018 and was formally the Chair of the Membership Committee for the Colorado Federal Bar Association.

Currently, the Miami-born lawyer is spearheading her very own law office in West Palm Beach, Florida, The Hyman Law Firm, where she advocates for people’s rights above anything else.

“I want my clients to know that they can go back to their life with a sense of peace knowing that I will do my best to solve their problems,” Kelly shares.

Referred to as the “modern-day Erin Brokovich” by Forbes, this influential lawyer has had the opportunity to represent numerous clients in claims and individual actions filed in state and federal courts involving issues like water contamination, tobacco, and so much more. At present, she seems to be utilizing her influence in the political sector by publishing a book called Build Back Better: The First 100 Days of the Biden Administration and Beyond, where she brings up numerous points as a Democratic strategist.

But it would seem like Kelly isn’t solely sticking to her legal profession, showing up on television often as a legal analyst. She’s also appeared on numerous news channels like BBC, NBC, ABC, Fox News, and so much more to deliver in-depth analysis on subjects concerning law and politics.

Kelly Hyman is married to Paul G. Hyman, Jr. who is a federal judge in the southern district in Florida. In her spare time, Kelly Hyman enjoys traveling around the world with her husband. Kelly Hyman and her husband, Paul Hyman, have been to all seven continents.
