Art has different meanings for different people and artists. Each artist defines art for themselves. For young Minnesota writer- filmmaker Eslam Hozayen art is anything which makes you think. Art is definitely subjective, agrees the director, but he does not identify with any art piece that does not make one think.

The writer-director has created 4 short films and 5 short visuals, out of which ‘The devil within us’ is his most successful project. The film has won 5 awards in various film festivals. It has been screened across continents from America, Europe to Asia (India). Hozayen now believes his most recent short ‘Born Monsters’ is set to become his most successful work.

Hozayen’s ‘Born Monsters’ will soon be screened at two film festivals which require first premier rights. Thus the film cannot go straight for digital release. Once screened at the festivals the film will be available on various online platforms for the audience to watch.

When asked about his creative process, the filmmaker says he believes in crossing the line and bringing forth one’s inner real belief in the form of art. Hozayen enjoys the process of creating these disturbing images on celluloid. He doesn’t want to avoid fear as that will give fear power and control over a human. Through his writing and films he wants to step closer looking at fear face to face, understand it and overcome it eventually. This is the reason he presents disturbing images to make the viewer comfortable with the uncomfortable things.
