Eda Aguilar Channels Her Passion for the Arts into Building a Thriving Fashion Brand

Eda Aguilar’s passion for the arts, theatre, dancing, and fashion helped her make the decision to get on the journey that birthed the EDALOU PARIS brand. “The dream was conceived in Puerto Rico; the brand was born in New York City, designed and made in Paris. We want you to dance and love with us, rock at everything you do, dance it off and let go, and love passionately and effortlessly,” Eda said.

It took leaving her home country of Puerto Rico for New York City and then leaving her career in finance to bring the brand to life. Eda Lourdes has a deep love for design and the “beaux-arts.” Now she’s combining those loves with her quest for financial freedom and making a difference, and she’s laser-focused on making her brand successful. Eda created EDALOU PARIS to be a fashion accessories brand that designs quality, multi-functional, and conscious styles of fashion for women.

Describing the products from the brand, Eda said, “Each piece is conceived with multi-functional and versatile elements that appeal to diverse women looking for modern designs. We thoughtfully source luxury materials to create quality pieces with a message of self-love and empowerment for women everywhere.”

Eda Lourdes embarked on a personal journey of sacrifice, professional growth, and professional evolution. She left a 15-year career in finance, pursued her age-long dream, took her time to learn the ropes in the fashion industry, and is now a stakeholder in the industry. The offshoot of her brand, a handbag called La Coucou, getting nominated for a prestigious award in New York City gave her all that she needed to proceed with taking over the fashion industry. Under the La Coucou brand, EDALOU PARIS has churned out a collection of products that are multi-lux versatile with endless possibilities.

Eda credits the success in her journey to her willingness to put in the work and start from scratch when she had to. “I pushed through, kept learning on the job, and self-taught myself via masterclasses, books, and people in the industry I respect etc. I never gave up. I never settled. I was even told not to make my bag, but I believed in her, and it is not over. I still keep learning as much as I can every day. There is something else out there to discover at all times,” she said. In April 2021 La Coucou won an award at the prestigious design competition: A Design Award & Competition.

Growing EDALOU PARIS is her major goal, and she hopes to see products from the company sitting in stores that share the brand’s values. Eda is also in the process of championing programs that allow her to give back to society by means of empowering women looking for a transformation. She’s organizing mentoring, educational and support programs for women. “Our bags transform from one style to the other. We want to help women reach their highest potential.
