How Waseem X Broke the Barriers of Being an Artist in the Entertainment Industry

Nowadays, with freedom of speech and expression coming a long way, artists and celebrities have started to speak out about current social issues that people face. Most of them took favorable stances and sided with the masses, while there are still others who choose to stay silent, in fear of being judged and consequently, of their lives and career.

Admittedly, it is never easy to go public with one’s opinions and ideologies, especially when the topic in mind is sensitive and has a possibility of going downhill. However, it is ideal for taking a stand against oppression, but some thought it best to stay on the sidelines. For people like Waseem Hyman, being an artist with a clear position in life is the best way to make the career a worthwhile venture.

Known professionally as Waseem X, Waseem is an R&B artist, a singer, and a songwriter. Apart from being used to the limelight, an interesting thing about Waseem is that he is also interested in business, so he became an entrepreneur. However, Waseem wanted to define his careers with a purpose that is why everything that he does is for creating ripples of positive changes in the lives of many.

In 2019, he founded his first clothing brand called Monarchs, a luxury brand that sells ‘athleisure’ clothes. In the same year, he partnered with Wellevate by Emerson Ecologics and launched a holistic practice named, A Life Without Disease, which helps people build their path towards a happy and healthy life. This year, while he was debuting his first single, “Miss Robinson,” he established Star Icon, which helps individuals get the opportunity of becoming an artist with transparency and honesty. With these many things going on in Waseem’s life, he never treated it as a money-making venture, but a potential life-changer for people who aspired to become better in their lives.

Because Waseem believes in providing an impact on the world, his businesses were more than just what it is. They give back to the community and help raise awareness of each person’s worth. For instance, his brand, Monarchs, represents equality and royalty. A Life Without Disease embodies good health because Waseem believes that having good health is a right that everyone should enjoy. Finally, his latest project, Star Icon, was created to represent justice. This is because Waseem believed that the road to becoming an artist required a lot of connections in the industry. He wanted to provide an equal chance for people to get closer to their dreams. He fancied bolstering the idea that anyone can reach their dreams in life, especially if you work hard for it.

Waseem wanted to create a difference in the world. That is why he never settled being an artist in the entertainment industry, and he went further to help those less in life dream a little more. He hopes that with the initiatives he has started, other artists and celebrities would also rise up to the challenge and be more than just entertainers.
