Your Cleaning Lady Doesn’t Want You To Know These 7 Secrets

People with hectic days opt for a cleaning service to do the job for them. Well, not everyone loves cleaning and it is common for those who stay-at-home to do the same.

Great! You are privileged to have a spotless home without getting a speck of dirt onto your hands. But there are a few shady secrets you might have never known before.

No cleaning lady will tell you these (‘cause of professionalism) but you better know in order to be mindful enough.

1. Your Choice is Always Not Her Favorite

Bought a bottle of all-natural cleaning agent?

Cool, your cleaning lady will use it but she isn’t obliged to you. If you want her to use a particular cleaning product (be it a machine), you cannot question the level of neatness your house ends up with.

As she doesn’t like your ‘ideal’ product, there are chances for her to skip a few steps and cite your cleaning product as the reason. Worst case, she might like it yet do the same. But, you cannot go wrong with your choices when you take help from Wash Wisely.

2. Little Dusting Helps You

You can leave your house as the mess, it is for her to take care of. Yes, you’re gonna pay her. But there’s a catch.

It is better to make your house prepared by pre-dusting. You don’t have to scrub your floors with Epsom salts but make sure you don’t leave it ghastly. Your cleaning lady appreciates your little effort and tries to reciprocate it.

Else, she mentally rolls her eyes at your grubby house.

3. Extra Care…Not Really

No matter how much you stress it, that heavily dirty area is just another part of the house for her. You got only one house but she got a bunch of houses to clean for the day.

She may be generous to give it some extra scrubbing but if the stain is stubborn, your pain is not her pain. In fact, there are fewer chances for her to keep your requests in mind.

Any antique pieces in the house? They don’t deliberately damage them but it is advised to get your pieces insured.

4. Seen It All

Finish your private issues before she shows up. Though she acts professionally as if she hasn’t noticed anything, remember that she is a human with a working pair of eyes.

If you leave your personal affairs for her to see, she will talk about them with her family, friends and even other clients (with whom she is friendly). Even if she has the same dirty secret, she is going to talk about you with others. Period.

5. Not Better Than You

Though her job is to clean, she holds no masters in it. She doesn’t know everything about stain removal. Her experience does teach her things but they are not always guaranteed to work.

She is quick at work as she has to catch up with other unclean houses on her list. You hired her as you don’t have time or the patience to do it. Don’t be awed at her work but treat her with respect.

6. Background Check

The cleaning agency you contacted has a supervisor but your cleaning lady’s so-called background check is meh. She shows up at the agency for work and they send her to you.

There are instances where a cleaning lady sent a friend to her place. Will the agency or you come to know about it? There are hardly any chances.

7. Friendly Talk? Yes. Therapist? No.

Exchanging pleasantries is appreciated. Whining about your problems is not. She has a thousand and one problems but is she telling you? No.

Don’t interrupt her work with your life issues. She isn’t here to help you make a choice in life. Her sole aim is to get done with cleaning your house and move on to the next client’s place.

Honestly, your problems piss her off.

The next time you hire someone to clean your house, you know what’s running in her mind and what equipment is ideal for them (or you) to use for this job.
