Daniel Merin, better known as Daniel of Fifth Avenue, comes from a long line of gifted jewelers. With more than 100 years of combined experience in diamond wholesaling, diamond cutting and manufacturing — the Merin’s bloodline dates back to Daniel’s grandfather, Shlomo Merin. Starting in Sierra Leone, Africa during the early-twentieth century  as a miner, Shlomo eventually climbed his way up the ladder and became the director of manufacturing for Lazare Kaplan International. As Daniel’s father exited the Israeli army during the 1970’s, he went on to work as a diamond cutter for Kaplan alongside his father, ultimately bringing the family trade back to New York City in the fall of 1981.

Daniel’s greatest learning moment has been through his experience of running a store in  New York City’s diamond district from his Fifth Avenue headquarters. Personal highlights of such of Daniel Merin’s illustrious career in diamonds include the sale of rare stones such as a 1.6 Carat Asscher-Cut Fancy Red diamond valued at nearly $2,000,000 USD to $9,000,000.00 offers on the family heirloom, a Fancy Intense Blue Emerald — in addition to millions of carats in natural white diamonds being sold to date.

Daniel also has a broad range of clientele which include names like David Beckham, Beyoncé, Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian have been adorned with diamonds sold by the Fifth Avenue outfit. Daniel of Fifth avenue has developed a lifetime friendship with women’s best friend- diamonds. His motto is to “invoke brilliance” and his brand is inspired by true value, love and family.

With a minimum budget of $2,500 to commission work, Daniel is very accessible to any couple, making both rings for men and women. While his specialties lie in bespoke bridal and engagement rings, Daniel has an eye for unparalleled craftsmanship, value and modern spins on classic design.
