Studies say that doctors can tell the disease a patient is suffering from, by just hearing the symptoms they are facing like the sneezing etc. They can diagnose and treat colds and flu and some allergies by asking questions and checking the throat and the eyes itself. No further tests are required.
This has led to doctors now looking and treating their patients online, specially in the midst of this pandemic. They have partnered with various online or tele-medicine companies like Teledoc, Doctor on Demand and MDLive. It is “doctors on your device” concept that makes the doctors to see the patients through the camera on patient’s device.
The doctor and the patient teleconference to treat the disease. Doctors are board certified and licensed to practice in your state. An appointment can be schedules using the app on any device. They are available for both Android and iOS devices.
There is a form to be filled that will ask simple questions about how is one feeling and what are the symptoms they are suffering. Appointment with these online doctors is scheduled after this task. A background check of health history is also done before the appointment so that when you finally meet the doctor he/she has everything about you ready in their devices.
Once you meet the doctor they will ask you to take your temperature and ask questions like which part of the body hurts. They will ask you to take the device camera towards eyes to check your eyes. The doctor will see the throat too and basically perform all the tasks that are performed when you visit the clinic but now it all can happen online at the convenience of your own homes.
These apps are subscription based providers. Teledoc is $10 a month for an individual or $20 for a family with unlimited access to its physicians and appointment can be taken at any time. Doctor on Demand and MDLive charge $75 and $79 per visit, respectively.
