Nitro Cold Brew has Become the Latest Caffeinated Beverage to Hit the Market

Nitro Cold Brew is the latest and greatest caffeinated beverage that has entered the market now. The drink has an alluring foam finish that more closely resembles a freshly poured IPA. It is made with nitrogen or nitrous oxide that creates café-style foam and a creamy texture. It is not like iced tea but more like a carbonated beverage. It has carbon dioxide dissolved into a solution to create a fizzy feel and nitrogen (N2) to create creamy mouthfeel by exposing it to nitrogen at extremely high pressures. The nitrogen creates micro bubbles that remain alive for few minutes.nitro coffee

Some cafes use nitrous oxide instead of nitrogen which creates a longer duration of the foam and also gives more sweetness in both the coffee and the milk without sugar. The nitrogen is the main difference between nitro cold brew and regular cold brew. It’s easy to make regular cold brew at home by slowly steeping coffee grounds in cold water for 24 hours and then mixing the concentrate with water or milk. That’s not the case with Nitro Cold brew, which needs complex and specialised equipment like a Nitro Coffee machine. Thus the maker needs to adhere to safety and precautionary measures. The vessels are under a lot of pressure and that could be dangerous to be done at home.

Same is the reason why Nitro cold brew is priced higher. It requires special equipment and is a time consuming process as compared to regular cold brew. But even with this scientific process, it tastes creamier, heavier and for some is better than the classic cup of coffee.
