Heathrow Airport has launched a scheme named, Pubwatch, to make the airport safer and easily approachable for its 80 million passengers per year. The scheme has been launched under the airport’s policy to make Heathrow Airport a convenient place for passengers and staff working there. The Pubwatch scheme is about to bring lounge operators, hoteliers, lounge operators, and airport transfers to Heathrow Airport. The airport will also increase the security manpower for increasing communication and information sharing. In addition, there will be a safe drinking environment for customers and a safe working environment for staff.

National Pubwatch has been working on to bring these facilities since April 2019. It has almost completed the project on T2, T3, T4, and T5 airside terminals. In 2018, Heathrow Airport had transported almost 2 lakh passengers per day. This was the busiest year in Heathrow Airport history. It is currently serving 203 destinations in 84 countries and possessing on-trade outlets such as London’s Pride By Fuller’s, the Crown Rivers by JD Wetherspoon and the George Pubs.

Steve Baker, chairman of National Pubwatch, said, “The airport terminals are just like mini towns centers and they are a hive of activity 24/7, they obviously have the advantages of good security processes and their own dedicated police presence, but there are many local operational challenges, I have been really impressed the way Heathrow airport staff embraced the Pubwatch model and I know they understand the benefits that it bring for them.”
