Columbus – Some parents are preferring bulletproof backpacks for their kids as a tool for their protection. The move came after mass shootings that are happening more than ever. The schools are ready to start and this decision is striking the minds of a lot of parents. Parents have different views about armoring their children with bulletproof backpacks. Some parents are suggesting the bulletproof backpacks for their kids while others believe that they give a false sense of security.

Parents are visiting bulletproof backpack shops. They are multiple layers of caviler and can stop up to 44 magnum handgun round. Parents are attending a lot of situation awareness classes where they are talking with experts about the need for a plan whenever they go out. They are now very careful about their kids. In addition to the backpacks, they are continuously looking for tech tools which could safeguard their children. They are also looking for phones for kids with a lot of sensors and other devices that could give them a true security sense about their kids.

Shannon Gilbert, a mother of four said, “I would send them with 2 backpacks and clothed them with all armor, absolutely! I mean it’s sad but yeah, It’s a reality, we don’t live in some bubble. It happens, there are shootings everywhere, It’s a parent’s choice but in our life, this is what we do every day.”
