The situation between Iran and US is escalating because Iran declared that it will no longer follow the pact it had signed back in 2015. The International agreement said that it will limit its ability of producing nuclear weapons.
Iran said it will increase its uranium enrichment activities because it wants to serve its country’s needs.
Behrouz Kamalvandi is the spokesperson of Iran’s nuclear agency and he said that other countries are afraid of the quality of weapons Iran can make from its enriched uranium.
This declaration came into play soon after two oil tankers were disabled by a projectile in the Iranian Coast. US said it was an attack that was forced by Tehran itself. But Iran denies any involvement in it. Iran is over the Trump administration calling the shots. It has done nothing but pressured it into crippling new sanctions that impairs Iran’s ability to sell oil abroad.
Tehran has denied its role in the explosion of two tankers in the Gulf of Oman. One was Norwegian and the other was Japanese. The attack took place in the time when the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was meeting with Iranian leaders to diffuse the tension caused by U.S. Japan wanted to return to its working with Iran, by purchasing oil from Iran without violating the U.S sanctions.
This forceful domination and provocative statements made by President Trump himself has led towards Iran’s violation of the nuclear agreement. The Obama administration had brokered an agreement with Iran. Now, it seems Iran does not want to be in good graces of U.S and Europe.
With these incidents it is becoming clear that allies of U.S are fast distancing themselves from it. Rep. Adam Schiff, Chairman of the power House of Intelligence Committee, said “This is, I think, the worst of all situations. And the maximalist pressure campaign has massively failed and only heightened the risk of conflict. We should be trying to corral a response, though from the international community to protect shipping, to impose sanctions. But because we have alienated ourselves from our allies, that’s not happening.”
