Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden has been enlisted as one of the “Top 10 North American Gardens Worth Travelling For” at 2019 Canadian Garden Tourism Awards. The award was presented at the North American Garden Tourism Conference took place from November 3-5, 2019, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, based on the theme “Taking Garden Tourism to the Next Level.”
The Vallarta Botanical Garden is full of greenery and it is located around 15 miles south of the historic center in the city. This place offers visitors to do a variety of activities to enjoy their time. And flora enthusiasts can find the garden’s 3000 plant species to enjoy their time while learning about them. Travelers can hike around the property, picnicking on the grounds or can enjoy swimming in the Hoscones River.
One can experience the Carnivorous Plant Collection, the beauty of the Rose Garden, the fragile Orchid House, the lush Palm Garden, and Tree Fern Grotto. In addition to this, the prized Mexican Agrave Gardens can be seen while walking through the Jungle Trails. The Vallarta Botanical Garden is known for different species of parrots and one can find different birds, reptiles, and mammals in this garden.
While congratulating the Vallarta Botanical Garden for this special achievement, Javier Aranda, Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, expressed the value of the garden for the city. And the Canadian Garden Council also highlighted the importance of the Vallarta Botanical Garden in boosting the tourism of the city. It said that over 25 million people come to North America to see gardens which takes the total garden visitors over 250 million.
