Joele Frank advised on 80 shareholder-activism defense assignments in 2025, more than twice the total of any rival firm, according to Bloomberg’s full-year league tables for IR/PR advisers. The firm finished first both globally and in the United States, where 78 of those 80 mandates originated.

The size of the gap stands out. FGS Global placed second with 31 defense assignments, followed by Collected Strategies at 20, Brunswick Group at 19, and ICR at 18. No competitor reached half of Joele Frank’s count.

This result extended a streak. Joele Frank has topped Bloomberg’s activism table for IR/PR advisers for seven years running and has held the No. 1 ranking for shareholder-activism defense since 2019.

A record year for activists set the backdrop

Activist investors launched 255 campaigns worldwide over the year, the most on record, surpassing the prior peak set in 2018, according to Lazard’s Annual Review of Shareholder Activism. North American targets absorbed 173 of those campaigns, a 28% jump from 2024.

Barclays tracked the same surge and tied it to a stronger market for deals and looser financing conditions that gave activists room to push. Board seats remained the most common demand, and mergers featured in roughly a third of campaign objectives, a share above the five-year average.

More campaigns meant more boards looking for advisers who handle the communications side of a proxy fight. Joele Frank captured the largest piece of that demand.

What a defense mandate involves

A defense assignment runs well beyond drafting a press release. When an activist discloses a stake and a slate of demands, the targeted company’s advisers shape the public response, prepare directors and executives for investor questions, coordinate with proxy solicitors and legal counsel, and build the argument shareholders weigh before a vote.

Joele Frank represents the company-side only, and never the activists pressing them. For a board deciding whom to hire during a contested campaign, not having to worry about a potential conflict or even a prior relationship with an activist can provides boards and management teams with additional peace of mind.

Founder Joele Frank has built a personal record in the category that few advisers, if any, can match. Across her career she has gone up against Starboard Value more than 40 times, Carl Icahn more than 30, and Pershing Square more than 10, according to the firm. Those fights include Target’s defense against Pershing Square and Clorox’s against Carl Icahn.

First on both counts

Activism is not the only area where JF has firmly established itself as an industry leader. On mergers and acquisitions, Joele Frank ranked first once again. The Deal’s full-year league table named it the top financial communications adviser in U.S. M&A, the position the firm has held since 2013.

The firm advised on both contested and friendly transactions across the year, including the target’s side of the largest deal of 2025, Union Pacific’s $88 billion acquisition of Norfolk Southern.

The pattern points to one firm leading on both fronts at once. Joele Frank finished first on The Deal’s M&A communications table and first on Bloomberg’s activism defense table in the same year. The activism lead is the wider of the two, a margin its competitors have not closed in seven years.

Whether the lead holds depends partly on the activists themselves. If 2025’s campaign volume carries into 2026, the supply of contested situations that built Joele Frank’s franchise will keep flowing.

John McEntee wrote a $39,200 check to Steve Hilton’s gubernatorial campaign — the largest donation permitted in the California primary. The amount is notable less for its size than for its source. John McEntee ran the White House Presidential Personnel Office under Trump and has spent the years since building a national profile in conservative media, shaping how a generation of young Republicans engage with politics. His involvement signals that the 2026 California governor’s race is drawing interest from within the inner circle of the national conservative movement.

Hilton, a former Fox News host and one-time adviser to UK Prime Minister David Cameron, entered the crowded field last year with a housing-centered platform and the argument that California’s cost of living and public safety failures represent a genuine political opening. Trump has since endorsed him.

The Housing Argument at the Center

McEntee’s support is grounded in specific policy alignment, not just party affiliation. During his tenure at the Presidential Personnel Office, he was among the officials involved in the rollback of the Obama-era Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rule, which required localities receiving federal housing funds to document and address patterns of housing discrimination. Critics of the regulation argued it amounted to federal pressure on single-family neighborhoods to accept higher-density development. The Trump administration formally revoked it in July 2020.

Hilton’s platform stakes out nearly identical terrain at the state level. He has argued against California’s regional housing needs assessment mandates, which require cities and counties to zone for specified numbers of new units across income categories. His position is that those requirements override local community preferences and add regulatory costs that reduce rather than expand housing supply.

California’s Department of Housing and Community Development has estimated the state faces a shortfall of more than 2.5 million units. The gap is real. The disagreement is about causation. Hilton and his supporters argue that top-down mandates and regulatory burdens are the problem. His critics argue that single-family zoning restrictions are.

The 2026 Opening

Gavin Newsom cannot seek a third term, leaving the 2026 governor’s race without an incumbent Democrat on the ballot for the first time in more than a decade. That matters in a state where the political composition of suburban areas, Orange County in particular, has continued to shift in ways that neither party has fully locked down.

McEntee framed his support in personal terms. “Too many Republicans seem to have abandoned hope that we can take California back,” he said. “But it’s my home, and I’m never leaving. With Steve in the running, I’ve never been more bullish on the Golden State.”

His backing is consistent with a pattern. In 2023, when most Republican lawmakers were calling for a TikTok ban, McEntee came out publicly against one. He tends to stake positions at odds with conservative consensus before that consensus moves. Whether California Republicans in 2026 are approaching one of those moments remains the central question of the race.

Hilton’s campaign offered a direct response to the endorsement: “We’re building a real statewide movement and we’re in it to win.”

The idea that American energy independence depends heavily on domestic production has become a central component of current federal energy policy. Against this backdrop, new federal lease auctions are creating fresh competition for energy companies seeking to secure long-term access to US energy resources, especially in high-producing regions like the Williston Basin.

In one of the most closely watched federal lease sales of 2025, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) auctioned off over 7,600 acres of public land in Montana and North Dakota, raising more than $38 million. Bidding was competitive, with some tracts generating more than $10,000 per acre. Among the participants was Phoenix Energy, which secured 12 parcels and emerged as the top bidder by dollars at the auction.

Earlier in 2025, Phoenix Energy also acquired over $10 million in federal oil and gas leases in North Dakota. Both the more recent and earlier 2025 acquisitions secured additional acreage that Phoenix Energy had evaluated as attractive and consistent with its long‑term development plans.

Phoenix Energy approached these auctions with a strategic focus on long-term goals. Federal lease windows are brief, and there is usually high competition for the most desirable parcels in key locations like the Williston Basin.

“In this industry, quality acreage doesn’t become available every day,” said Adam Ferrari, CEO of Phoenix Energy. “When opportunities align with years of geological work and infrastructure planning, operators have to think long-term and act decisively.”

Phoenix Energy’s bid decisions were based on years of geological data, spacing analysis, and proximity to infrastructure. These leases build on an existing asset base that has already been studied, with preliminary development plans informed by geological and engineering work.

Why federal land access matters for oil and gas production

The Williston Basin includes parts of eastern Montana and western North Dakota. It remains one of the most resource-rich oil regions in the United States. It is home to the Bakken and Three Forks formations, both of which are well understood by geologists and oil industry engineers.

While the physical landscape has stayed the same, the technology used to drill it has advanced significantly. Advances in horizontal drilling and completions have revitalized new economics for previously marginal acreage.

“A decade ago, some of this acreage may not have supported the same level of development interest,” Ferrari said. “Today, longer laterals, improved completions, and better reservoir targeting have fundamentally changed how operators evaluate these assets.”

Parcels passed over a decade ago are now being reconsidered, thanks in part to multi-mile lateral wells, tighter spacing, and technology used to more accurately target supply. These tools enable operators to recover more oil from fewer surface locations, thereby reducing costs while also minimizing land disturbance.

But success in the oil production business is not just about land and technology; it is also about timing. Currently, federal energy policy has created conditions under which development on some federal leases is both permitted and economically attractive for certain operators.

Energy policy on federal lands unlocks opportunity for American oil

The September lease auction by the BLM was conducted under the framework created by Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act, a federal law enacted in early 2025. Among other changes, the law reduces the minimum federal onshore royalty rate on certain new leases from 16.67 percent to 12.5 percent and requires more frequent onshore lease sales in key producing states, including Montana and North Dakota.

These changes, combined with ongoing permitting reforms, have coincided with renewed leasing activity in regions that had seen slower activity in previous cycles. Supporters argue these changes benefit the oil and gas industry and can support local economies, domestic oil supply, and domestic energy security.

These lease sales arrive at a time when national energy demand continues to rise as analysts expect growth across industrial, commercial, and emerging sectors. Federal lease sales help ensure oil producers have access to the acreage needed to meet that demand.

What comes next?

Winning a lease at auction is the first step in a long process. Before any development occurs, operators must submit site-specific drilling and development plans, follow permitting requirements, and ensure their plans comply with the environmental protection requirements of the state and federal governments.

The plan includes considerations for site-specific wildlife studies, allows for public comment periods, and infrastructure planning to support long-term field development. These steps can take months or even years, but they are a central part of the regulatory framework that governs oil development on public lands.

Still, timing matters. Political leadership changes. Policies shift. For many operators, uncertainty around future policy creates an incentive to participate in lease auctions like those held in 2025, rather than assume similar opportunities will exist later.

Phoenix Energy’s participation in the September 2025 auction illustrates one way independent operators are responding to evolving federal policies. As energy demand grows and policy landscapes shift, companies like Phoenix Energy evaluate lease opportunities as part of a broader effort to maintain access to productive acreage and contribute to the US energy supply.

Of all first responders, police officers face the highest exposure to hazardous situations and a heightened risk of injury compared to other public servants. But, in the case of state troopers Abraham A. Bean and Cadin D. Spessert, it was the lack of safety oversight and administrative negligence by the West Virginia State Police Department that led to serious injury to these officers.

It was in December 2023 when the two troopers encountered an armed suspect during an attempt to serve an arrest warrant in Martinsburg, VA. Unfortunately, during the conflict, the officer’s firearm malfunctioned, resulting in two troopers being wounded. A later inquiry and investigation discovered the resulting incident was due to incompatible state-issued firearm ammunition that resulted in one officer facing catastrophic injury.

Attorney George Sidiropolis launched The Injury Rights Law Firm in 2023 to represent plaintiffs like Bean and Spessert to fight corporate and institutional bad-faith litigation, particularly in cases resulting in serious injury or wrongful death. He is a staunch advocate for public servants and private citizens who face serious injury due to systemic negligence and/or civil rights violations that result in personal injury or property damage.

A Case of Administrative Negligence

As a former Municipal Court judge, Sidiropolis has witnessed firsthand the need for fairness and efficiency when confronting injustice from corporate or government entities. He won an $82 million, landmark case in Jefferson, Ohio, for an amputation victim who survived a commercial truck crash. He knows the reality is that injured public servants, like Bean and Spessert, face many uphill challenges as insurance companies and other stakeholders prioritize profit, minimize legitimate medical and monetary payouts, and use unethical deny, delay, and defend tactics.

In this case, George Sidiropolis is challenging the West Virginia State Police to acknowledge that it issued ammunition that was incompatible with the standard 9mm firearm required by the state police. The lawsuit focuses on significant workplace safety failures, including prior knowledge by the West Virginia State Police that the incompatible ammunition remained in circulation despite a known risk of serious injury or death.

A History of Operational Deficiencies

Incidents like this rarely happen in a vacuum. The Injury Rights Law Firm, PLLC, in conjunction with Laird Law, PLLC, point to a 2020 legislative audit (an independent review of state government agencies, programs, and/or finances) that identified several areas of concern within the WV State Police. These include deficiencies such as a lack of oversight and/or a lack of adherence to internal policies.

The audit clearly warned of known danger to officers in the areas of ammunition handling, storage, and inventory practices. These findings cited the department’s transition to 9mm duty firearms, while also retaining obsolete and incompatible ammunition calibers.

Even though State Police oversight executives issued internal directives to remove all incompatible ammunition and set forth improved controls and verification procedures, in the case of Trooper Bean, his serious injuries were a direct result of those directives not being fully implemented or verified. The incompatible ammunition remained in circulation despite the police department knowing the risks as identified by the oversight audit and within internal communications.

Advocating for the Rights of Public Servants

Attorney George Sidiropolis is shining a spotlight on critical deficiencies within the WV State Police departments, a move that may save more lives or spare families additional heartbreak in the future. His goal is to prove that failure of the department’s administrative entities to act, when warned about incompatible ammunition rounds that could still be present in inventory, is a clear failure to protect officers in the field. It also signifies a greater issue of accountability when internal operating risks are not corrected, and the great price that can be paid by civil servants and the public at large.

As an advocate for the rights of public servants and as counsel on the case of Abraham A. Bean et al. v.

While the American public remains preoccupied with domestic political issues, Europe is watching with growing concern a major corporate conflict that could have serious repercussions for the industrial sector. Italian engineering group Tecnimont S.p.A. and its parent company, Maire, have been locked for several months in multi-billion-dollar litigation with a subsidiary of Swiss-based EuroChem, the world’s fourth-largest fertiliser producer, namely the Russian company EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2. The situation is becoming increasingly complex, particularly as it has emerged that the Italian company’s partners and investors were not fully informed of the scale of the risks at an early stage.

According to Italian media reports, the dispute between EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2 and the contractors responsible for building a chemical plant in Kingisepp, Russia, arose after Tecnimont S.p.A. and its Russian subsidiary MT Russia unilaterally suspended construction work in May 2022, despite contractual obligations to complete the project. EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2 subsequently terminated the contracts. “While in the West Tecnimont is protected by a sanctions shield, in Russia it is simply regarded as a defaulting contractor,” the Italian publication Scenarie Economici noted.

By December, European media had begun to raise alarms, warning that penalties imposed by Russian arbitration courts and the freezing of accounts belonging to Tecnimont S.p.A. and its parent company Maire could lead not only to the suspension of ongoing projects, but potentially to bankruptcy. At the same time, the Italian engineering group largely refrained from public comment and did not disclose the scale of the court claims in its regular reporting to shareholders and investors.

Moreover, the company had previously stated publicly that decisions of Russian courts have no legal consequences outside the Russian Federation and therefore pose no risk to the group. This position was reiterated in Maire’s official press release dated December 22, 2025, which asserted that no jurisdiction outside Russia would recognise EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2’s claims. In an interview with Milano Finanza, Maire sought to reassure markets and investors, saying its position was protected by both law and market practice. The company cited the 1958 UN Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (the New York Convention), as well as a decision by Judge Butcher on November 21, 2025, which imposed restrictions on pursuing legal proceedings outside London.

However, following the decision of the Bombay High Court in Mumbai to open proceedings related to the attachment and recovery of 171 billion roubles (approximately $2.2 billion) from Tecnimont, the group’s rhetoric changed abruptly. In filings submitted to the English court, Maire’s lawyer openly described the situation as an “existential threat” to the group, warning of extremely severe consequences should EuroChem prevail. Court documents and accompanying witness statements detail the scale of the alleged damage caused by attempts to enforce Russian court rulings, estimating total potential losses at approximately $3.1 billion.

Applications to UK courts are not unusual in international EPC disputes. In this case, however, the decisive factor was the set of circumstances that forced the contractor to seek such protection. The conflict had taken on a global dimension: on December 22, 2025, EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2 filed an application for interim measures with the Bombay High Court and clearly signalled its intention to pursue similar actions in other jurisdictions. As a result, Tecnimont faced the immediate risk of asset enforcement abroad, giving the dispute particular urgency.

This raised an obvious question: were these risks not apparent earlier? According to court filings, MT Russia has effectively lost its ability to conduct normal operations. All of the company’s bank accounts are frozen, court-imposed penalties (astreinte) have reached approximately $940 million, and MT Russia was unable to pay employee salaries for December 2025 because banks refused to process payments without court authorisation. Witness testimony also acknowledges a threat to the financing of the Maire group as a whole.

After EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2 notified 16 Italian banks of Russian court rulings involving Maire S.p.A., the group’s credit lines — worth billions of dollars — were called into question. In court documents, these actions are described as an attempt to “choke off” the group’s financing. EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2, however, has maintained a consistent position throughout the dispute. “We have consistently pointed out that decisions of Russian courts are legal facts that carry legal consequences outside the Russian Federation,” the company said.

Recent developments have brought further setbacks for Maire and a significant interim victory for EuroChem Severo-Zapad-2. On January 13, the Bombay High Court considered EuroChem’s application for interim relief in connection with the recognition and enforcement of a Moscow Arbitrazh Court decision ordering the recovery of more than $2.2 billion from Tecnimont S.p.A. During the hearing, the court accepted the claimant’s arguments and ordered Tecnimont to refrain from actions that could hinder enforcement, including withdrawing assets from India or transferring funds outside the scope of ordinary business operations. The next hearing is scheduled for January 19, 2026.

Experts interviewed by our editorial team believe the outcome of the dispute will demonstrate not which court system is stronger or more legitimate, but how effectively companies can protect assets in today’s global legal environment. When large sums are at stake, they note, all available legal options tend to come into play.

Over three million Bitcoin—worth hundreds of billions—have vanished forever. Not stolen by hackers, but locked behind passwords that died with their owners. Family photographs disappear into sealed cloud accounts. Personal writings transform into digital ghosts when their creators pass away without sharing access credentials.

Glenn Devitt, former Chief Technology Officer at Stop Soldier Suicide and founder of Digital Legacy AI, has developed patent-protected technology that addresses this escalating digital inheritance crisis. His advanced AI processing systems preserve digital memories while ensuring secure transfer to verified beneficiaries—eliminating the binary choice between absolute security and complete data loss.

Baby boomers now control $19 trillion in housing wealth, with an increasing portion stored in digital formats that require technical intervention for access. From 2021 to 2045, over $72.6 trillion is expected to be passed directly to heirs, yet digital components of these estates often become permanently inaccessible when owners die unexpectedly.

Intelligence-Driven Digital Forensics Foundation

Devitt’s memory preservation innovation stems from his expertise in military intelligence and subsequent work analyzing digital patterns in veteran suicide prevention. His 11 years of U.S. Army Special Operations Intelligence service, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he earned two Bronze Star Medals, provided the foundation for understanding how critical information must remain both secure and accessible when needed.

Following military service, Devitt joined the Department of Homeland Security’s H.E.R.O. program, developing computer forensics capabilities. The Black Box Project at Stop Soldier Suicide demonstrated his ability to extract meaningful intelligence from digital footprints left by deceased individuals. Parents donated smartphones belonging to veterans who had died by suicide, enabling Devitt to perform digital forensics analysis and develop machine learning algorithms that identified behavioral patterns.

“Glenn brought the original idea of Black Box Project to our organization based on his extensive intelligence background in the military,” said Keith Hotle, Chief Executive Officer of Stop Soldier Suicide. “He was instrumental in developing the structure and framework both for acquiring decedent devices and extracting data from those devices through key partnerships he cultivated.”

The initiative earned recognition as a finalist for the Department of Veterans Affairs Mission Daybreak and secured $250,000 in federal funding. That analytical framework for processing digital behavior patterns now drives Digital Legacy AI’s approach to understanding when and how digital assets should transfer to beneficiaries through intelligent automation systems.

Patent Technology for Advanced AI Processing

Devitt’s patented system resolves the fundamental problem that has rendered digital inheritance nearly impossible: maintaining absolute security during an owner’s lifetime while enabling verified access after death. His breakthrough combines advanced AI processing with multi-factor authentication protocols to create automated processes that can authenticate death certificates and transfer assets directly to verified heirs.

“Right now we’re at a point with our data where we give a hundred percent of our data or we give none of our data,” Devitt explained during his appearance on The Ed Clay Show. That binary reality—complete access or total lockout—creates digital inheritance disasters as more wealth and memories migrate online.

The technology transforms digital storage from static repositories into dynamic inheritance systems. Rather than simply holding data until someone dies, the platform actively manages the transition process through secure verification protocols that confirm identity, validate legal authority, and execute predetermined distribution instructions automatically.

The AI processing capabilities handle diverse content types, including scanned family documents, digitized home movies, audio recordings, and personal writings. Advanced processing algorithms automatically analyze and categorize digital content, identifying photographs by date and location, organizing documents by type, and creating searchable archives of voice recordings and written communications.

Market Timing During Generational Wealth Transfer

New IRS regulations mandate individual wallet reporting for inherited digital assets starting January 2025, making digital legacy planning both a legal and financial necessity. Professional estate planners report an increasing number of client requests for digital inheritance assistance, yet they often lack standardized tools for managing online assets.

Federal patent protection positions Digital Legacy AI uniquely within the regulatory framework development surrounding digital inheritance. While competitors focus on password management or simple digital vaults, Devitt’s system integrates legal compliance frameworks designed for complex multigenerational estates.

The patent establishes intellectual property protection for authentication methods that operate independently after death, eliminating ongoing security vulnerabilities that compromise traditional password-sharing approaches. The technology satisfies probate requirements through authenticated death certificates and predetermined access credentials, maintaining legal compliance while managing assets that most estate attorneys cannot handle technically.

Expanding Consumer Product Portfolio

Beyond digital inheritance, Devitt has co-founded Alcohol Armor, a scientifically formulated beverage designed to prevent hangovers by supporting the body’s ability to metabolize alcohol more efficiently. The product has secured distribution across premium Las Vegas venues, including The Wynn, OnCourse, Caesars, and Resort World, demonstrating Devitt’s transition from service-based consulting through Delitor Inc. to scalable consumer products.

“I realized I can only grow my services so far, but the bigger markets are the consumer bases where people are consuming a product,” Devitt noted, describing his systematic approach to building ventures that create force multiplier effects—where one person’s adoption leads to household and family network expansion.

This business model philosophy extends to Digital Legacy AI, where the household model creates network effects that accelerate adoption during generational wealth transfer. When one family member establishes a Digital Legacy AI account, security benefits extend to other household members who can be designated as beneficiaries or co-administrators.

Veteran Innovation in Emerging Technology

Devitt’s operational background positions Digital Legacy AI to anticipate technological changes before they create inheritance problems. His military training in threat anticipation, humanitarian experience in adapting to changing conditions, and entrepreneurial focus on sustainable solutions create a foundation for handling complex and unknown situations.

The system addresses both current threats and long-term accessibility requirements for families who recognize that their digital memories constitute irreplaceable personal heritage requiring protection beyond traditional storage methods. Digital preservation infrastructure addresses gaps in current fragmented approaches that leave families vulnerable when cloud storage services fail or local storage systems become obsolete.

Glenn Devitt’s patent-protected digital memory preservation system establishes a fundamental approach to family digital heritage—achieving both absolute security and family accessibility through complete offline protection and intelligent inheritance protocols. The technology offers families a robust system to preserve important digital memories, ensuring access for generations to come. This addresses the digital inheritance crisis, which has rendered irreplaceable family heritage permanently inaccessible when traditional storage methods fail.

Are you looking for a legal representative to help with your personal injury claim in Washington, DC? Are you worried you might not get the right lawyer, even if you do find one? Finding a personal injury lawyer who can handle your Washington, DC, personal injury claim can be challenging.

Moreover, with the number of personal injury lawyers in Washington, DC, it can be hard to find the right fit. Nevertheless, here is a guide to show you where to start looking for a lawyer and how to find the right one.

Where to Find a Washington, DC Personal Injury Attorney

If you reside in Washington, DC, you have access to several personal injury law firms, all promising top-notch representation and counsel. “If you seek legal assistance for the first time or a new issue, sifting through the extensive libraries of firms for the right lawyer can be particularly exhausting and confusing,” says Personal Injury Attorney John Yannone of Price Benowitz Accident Injury Lawyers, LLP. Therefore, rather than go through all that trouble, here are ways to look for a lawyer for your claim:

Through Recommendations or Word of Mouth

Recommendations for personal injury attorneys from a friend, family member, colleague, or acquaintance are valuable. That is because they have likely used the attorney services and know firsthand what kind of representation you should expect. Therefore, one reliable way to find the right personal injury attorney is by asking the people around you.

Online Search

Personal injury lawyers are recognizing the importance of having a strong online presence, as most of them are now online. That is great news for you because it means you can find a lawyer right from the comfort of your home. With a smartphone and a reliable internet connection, you can search for personal injury attorneys around you online and in phone books.

Referral Services

Phone Books and online searches are not all that reliable when it comes to finding a personal injury attorney. While they may provide names and contact information, they do not share much about their background and ratings. Bar association lawyer referral services, on the other hand, can provide this information and more.

Thus, you can reach out to any lawyer referral service in DC and ask for a referral to an attorney. Furthermore, the initial consultation is usually free; you can use that opportunity to determine if you want them or not.

Matching Services

For a more direct connection to a personal injury lawyer in Washington, DC, matching services come in very handy. More so, they can connect you with a lawyer who specializes in the particular aspect you need help with.

Tips for Finding the Right Personal Injury Lawyer in Washington, DC

Now that you know where to start looking for personal injury lawyer referrals, let’s take it a step further. You need to be able to determine if the lawyer you are talking with can represent you. So, how do you do that?

First, pinpoint the nature of your claim – is it a car accident, slip-and-fall, medical malpractice, or premises liability? When you identify the nature of your claim, you can narrow down your search and find the appropriate lawyer.

Do you have special needs or prefer to work with a particular type of lawyer? You should identify those needs or the type of lawyer you want before you begin interviewing prospects.

Get the evidence you have gathered ready, including your receipts, hospital bills, and other documents that can explain your issues to the lawyer.

Create a checklist of questions you will ask your prospective lawyer during this initial consultation.

Write notes on the incident that caused your injury while it is still fresh in your memory. Then, bring it with you to the initial consultation with the lawyer; they know what to do with it.

Conclusion

Having legal representation for a DC personal injury case is essential, especially considering the complexity of these cases. However, even if your lawyer will handle the legal part of your personal injury case, you still need to understand it yourself. Moreover, the more understanding you have of your case, the more you will be able to find the right representation.

Jinee Green Card is seen as a reputable representation for those seeking a skill and investment-based visa. Founded by immigrants who have traversed the U.S. immigration system, Jinee Green Card prioritizes transparency, education and using structured frameworks to guide eligible clients through approval.

Jinee leverages technology and mentorship while providing vetted attorney access to build a pathway that is cost-effective and reliable instead of being reliant solely on the traditional legal methods. Jinee’s thorough relationship-based, structured pathway has attracted professionals across various industries, including technology, health, science, and design. These forms, processes, and path-focused people want tangible direction and measurability for their immigration journey.

Designed by and built for immigrants

Jinee Green Card evolved from the frustrations and realities of its founders, who have all at some point held an international visa of some kind. The founders had first hand dealt with the myriad of visa categories, ranging from student visa to work visas to employment-based green cards, each with nuanced experience surrounding its options, limitations and cost, they simply understood the unknowns the complexities of backlogs of various applications, and the expense of limited options to immigrate or relocate to the U.S..

They did not accept the limited options, they created Jinee Green Card to enable applicants to build their profile with measurable achievements and credible evidence, the original premise of Jinee lays the groundwork so that every applicant can provide not only eligibility, but successful application tailored to their relevant professional space.

A new design focused on clarity and efficiency

Jinee Green Card starts the immigration wayfinding process as part of its platform, using an eligibility mapping system and AI powered tool that understands how the clients credentials can be viewed against migration avenues like EB-1A/O-1/UK Global Talent Visa, and other visas. This analysis includes over ten essential categories of qualifications to create a clear, objective outline of possible pathways.

With that, the system automatically produced a burgeoning personalized roadmap. This roadmap included delineated activities that possible plans will carry out (media outreach, professional recognition, leadership positional awareness in their profession, etc.). Each activity is supported by mentorship and community resources for the clients to make intentional, progressive, and strategic progress on their goals.

Tools that help establish evidence

The originality of the platform is also in its evidence-building capability. The evidence-building tools help clients prepare essential documents, and recommendation letters, expert statements, and summarizing evidence. Clients who want to have ownership of the filing process can self-petition while going through the self-petition tool, which allows clients to create a petition at any attorney level (but at a lower price) in a step-by-step fashion; even going so far as suggesting optional attorney involvement to do a legal review.

Along the way, progress dashboards are provided to track milestones from profile development to submission finalization to advised limits on document size; applicants see their progress and can be organized enough to see their next steps along the way so there is nothing unclear about what stage of the process they are at.

Dedication to Accuracy and Ethical Principles

Every petition submitted on the platform follows a defined process for format and content and considers evidential support. We provide templates that meet the criteria of agencies like USCIS and UKVI.

In terms of integrity, we do not ghost write or make unsubstantiated claims. Clients are asked to build real accomplishments that they can substantiate and defend, if challenged, rather than depending on our honesty. All client information is processed taking the highest confidentiality and security protocols into account.

Jinee Green Card Reviews continually reports our attention on accuracy and bona fide, fact-based applications as its example of “devoted integrity.” Clients often cite the peace and calm they have knowing they can rely on our platform to help them endure the scrutiny petitioning involves.

Support Before, During and After Filing

Jinee Green Card is more than merely a filing service. From the start, applicants are gaining live profile review; as well, with Jinee, they receive projects and workshops as well as on-demand assistance with any questions. Our interactive paradigm assists applicants in finding alternative strategies, confronting some of the more difficult issues and remaining engaged throughout the process of connection to relocation processes.

Once applications are filed, we provide support on responding to requests for evidence, provide additional contacts for relocation and post-approval assistance. In general we have ongoing support to ensure clients are settled in their new location and all the initial details associated with relocation, housing, employment and transitioning to new culture, and lifestyles.

Real Outcomes from Diverse Backgrounds

Successful applications are a true test of the platform’s flexibility. One applicant, a product manager working in India, built a strong EB-1A petition by focusing on increasing their public exposure. This example petition presented strong recommendations from globally respected organizations allowing for full acceptance in nine months without the need for a request for further evidence.A different client who worked with us, a researcher from Brazil, used the pitch and mentorship tools on the platform to enhance her portfolio and secure her UK Global Talent Visa in under a year, all on her own. These successes demonstrate a dependable mechanism that can be customized depending on the applicant and how much they bring in terms of verifiable qualifications.

Supporting the Global Immigration Community

In addition to working with individual applicants, Jinee Green Card is also committed to creating a global community of skilled workers.

Cities across the US need more affordable housing. According to Mohammad Shwiqi, a groundbreaking PropTech founder and Harvard-educated real estate developer, solving this problem should involve repurposing existing buildings, rather than just trying to raise new construction.

“We don’t need to build more,” Shwiqi says. “Millions of square feet have already been built. The housing market needs supply, and these underused properties can become part of that supply if we unleash innovative designs.”

Here’s why Shwiqi believes the future of real estate will be adaptive, not additive.

The state of affordable housing in the US

Depending on the estimation method used by different research teams, the US currently requires approximately 1 to 5 million additional residential units to meet existing demand. For instance, the Brookings Institution calculates that the US was 4.9 million units short in 2023, while Moody’s Analytics and the Urban Institute estimate a shortfall of 2 million.

Many experts, such as those at the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies and the National Low Income Housing Coalition, emphasize that finding housing is most challenging for low-income families.

Meanwhile, a significant portion of the US’s office buildings continue to go empty or underused even years after the COVID-19 pandemic sent many office workers home.

Vacant office buildings and commercial real estate

According to separate analyses from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Moody’s Analytics, the national vacancy rate for offices was approximately between 13 and 20 percent in 2023 and 2024. Some metropolitan areas, such as San Francisco, Austin, and Seattle, suffer from markedly higher rates.

These vacancies translate into an estimated 900 million square feet of empty existing office buildings alone. Other kinds of commercial real estate could open up further floorspace.

For Shwiqi, the answer to the American housing crisis lies not in constructing new units, but rather in adapting existing commercial buildings for residential purposes.

Adapting buildings into housing, not adding new housing units

“These already built structures might be outdated, underutilized, or even empty, which means they’re available to be transformed into housing,” Shwiqi says. “We need to adapt our existing buildings to give them a second life. This process is referred to as ‘adaptive infrastructure.’”

Shwiqi believes that adaptive infrastructure as a large-scale solution shouldn’t be viewed as a niche market. “The housing crisis is nationwide, and this solution likewise needs to be deployed in high-demand areas across the country,” he says.

Shwiqi does not underestimate the scope of this challenge, however.

Determining what commercial real estate should be repurposed

“It’s not financially feasible to convert all empty or underutilized commercial buildings for several reasons,” Shwiqi explains. “For example, offices often don’t have adequate windows to provide residents with natural light. And, depending on their age, their plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems may require a major overhaul.”

For this reason, each project needs to be evaluated on an individual basis. “If the assessment proves favorable, then the project will also likely need to be custom-designed,” Shwiqi says, “yet studies show that a significant slice of existing commercial space could be effectively transformed into housing.”

The results of those studies are why, as Shwiqi explains, vacant and outdated commercial space and office buildings should be viewed as a source of valuable potential.

A chance for design innovation

“Repurposing these buildings is a challenge, but it’s also a great opportunity to think outside of the proverbial box and create innovative new designs,” Shwiqi says. “It’s a chance to imagine flexible, inclusive, and sustainable housing solutions that align with what today’s residents need. Many will lend themselves to mixed-use or hybrid spaces that promote community and enliven the residential parts of the building. The whole will be greater than the sum of the parts, as the saying goes. This approach also has the advantage of not wasting land.”

While certain cities and states in the US have outlined policies for the adaptive reuse of housing infrastructure, such as California, Wisconsin, Seattle, Denver, and Boston, most other communities have zoning laws standing in the way of similar action. This misalignment is why Shwiqi also advocates for reform to introduce similar policies across more of the US.

The need to change zoning laws

Many experts, such as those at the Terner Center, have found that local zoning and land-use codes, including density limits, permitting delays, and regulations related to parking, hinder the transformation of commercial real estate into housing. Sometimes, these regulations serve to increase the expense involved in a potential conversion, and at other times, they block those conversions outright.

“Developers can’t take advantage of prime opportunities to create affordable housing if the local laws designate another use for that space,” Shwiqi explains. “Permitting needs to become simpler and easier. Zoning shouldn’t stand in the way of fast, cost-effective conversions in high-demand areas.”

The future of real estate

Indeed, the future of real estate might not revolve around the construction of more shiny new towers or new tracts of suburban sprawl. Instead, it could focus on a renaissance for existing buildings that have been languishing due to a lack of care.

“While the challenges might be great, it’s still an exciting time to be in real estate,” Shwiqi says. “With an adaptive approach, we have the opportunity to create the residences people need while reinventing housing for today’s America at the same time.”

Throughout 2025 and into 2026, commemorative events across America will help ring in the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War and the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This anniversary has sparked renewed interest in the American Revolution among Americans with a passion for history and a penchant for travel.

Many locations across the United States have preserved battlefields and places that mark major milestones during the American Revolution and the quest for independence. Locations such as the fields of Lexington and Concord, where the first battle against the British took place, and Independence Hall, where the Declaration was signed, are gearing up to welcome crowds over the next year for special events, living history programs, and continued celebrations to commemorate 250 years of American independence.

America’s National Parks™ has joined the celebration and created several programs to delight visitors to well-known national parks and notable locations. Through programs such as Passport To Your National Parks®, America’s National Parks™ is getting citizens in touch with their history and allowing them to track their visits to some of the most important locations in our nation’s history.

Since 1986, the Passport To Your National Parks® program has enabled Americans to develop personalized connections with America’s national parks. Since its inception, Passport To Your National Parks® has become the #1 best-selling guidebook to the national park system. Visitors to various sites can collect ink cancellation stamps to create their personalized journey through notable sites throughout the country.

A personal journey through the story of our nation’s independence

There are over 40 Revolutionary War sites managed by the National Park Service system. These include such significant locations as Cowpens National Battlefield, Kings Mountain National Military Park, and the Yorktown Battlefield within Colonial National Historical Park.

Visitors can walk in the footsteps of George Washington at Valley Forge and imagine what it must have been like for his troops to endure the harsh winter conditions. History buffs can hear the story of Primus Hall — a man born to enslaved parents who was “given away” to become a shoemaker’s apprentice, but instead joined the Continental Army in 1776 — at the Boston African American National Historic Site. Those looking to fill their Passport books with stamps can learn what it was like to be a militiaman or seek to understand the position of the loyalists.

These sites help tell the stories that have shaped the United States of America. Through the Passport To Your National Parks® program, visitors can become a part of the country’s history by walking the same fields and touring the same buildings where our forefathers built the nation from the ground up.

Passport to the American Revolution

To mark the 250th anniversary of America’s independence, Passport To Your National Parks® is unveiling a new version of its popular Passport program, The Passport to the American Revolution, highlighting the most significant Revolution-era locations within the US National Park system.

The new Passport features a foreword written by award-winning historian and documentarian Ken Burns, who is releasing his latest documentary, “The American Revolution,” this fall. The special edition of the Passport To Your National Parks® guidebook highlights national parks where pivotal events of the American Revolution occurred and draws attention to lesser-known sites tied to America’s founding. It is the perfect companion to those looking to celebrate the 250th anniversary by learning more about our nation’s founding.

Additionally, ink cancellation stampers with the official America250 logo have been created to commemorate visits to America’s Revolution-era sites, allowing people embarking on a journey through history to mark these special anniversaries in their Passport To The American Revolution.

As the anniversary dates approach, the National Park Service will host a series of events and demonstrations at the individual sites. Visitors can find more information about the events by visiting the America’s National Parks™ website and plan their trips to collect more Passport stamps.

Preserving a nation’s worth of history

There is a rich history within America’s national parks. From locations where our forefathers made consequential moves that shaped our history to battlefields where everyday men fought to gain independence from the British, people could easily fill a year or more with planned visits to significant locations from the American Revolution.

America’s National Parks™ has been dedicated to allowing people to document their journey through the most important historical sites in America since 1947, providing support to national park sites through their park stores, interpretive services, and custom products, such as the Passport To Your National Parks® books. The organization’s work extends far and wide throughout the national park. To date, America’s National Parks™ has donated over $180 million to National Park Service sites to purchase artifacts, fund living-history demonstrations, develop park signage and exhibits, maintain and renovate official facilities, and support other educational programs.

Whether you are a history buff, a student seeking more information about our nation’s founding, or simply looking for a fun new travel adventure, the Passport To The American Revolution is a great way to participate in the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.
