Fred Cary has been in business for a long while. He has been a “taco slinger,” been a musician, founded billion-dollar companies, and made a real difference in people’s lives. Cary has been able to build a truly diverse career for himself by always looking for the demand in the market that is not being fulfilled. While many advise new entrepreneurs to focus on one single area of business, this doesn’t always have to be the case. Cary is a perfect example of someone who has been able to carry his experience and business acumen over to various niches and metaphorically strike gold multiple times.
“If you want to be successful, you have to find a way to distinguish yourself. Don’t go for the same overly saturated niche that everyone else is working in. Find the gap on the market and fill that, instead. If you do it well, soon enough, other companies will want to acquire you,” Cary says.
Fred Cary advises business owners to remain steadfast with the process of building their companies. “I had a lot of difficulties when I was building my companies. I had to learn as I went and I’ve made a ton of mistakes, but that’s okay, because I learned from them. You’ll never be perfect the first time, but the important thing is to learn and do better next time,” he shares.
Cary admits that he could have done many things a lot better, had he been more knowledgeable and experienced at the time of starting his businesses, but he also makes a point that one can never know everything, and instead needs to learn from the process.
While there are plenty of helpful resources out there, Cary explains that he has come across more than 30 companies that aim to scam aspiring entrepreneurs. “A lot of companies out there are not legitimate and will make empty promises to entrepreneurs that they never keep. If you’re somebody who’s had an average career, say, selling insurance, the big venture capital firms will not be interested in even talking to you. This is why I decided to step in and help all those aspiring business owners get clarity and actually achieve their goals,” Cary explains. There are an estimated 550,000 Americans who become entrepreneurs every single month. Cary saw that market as underserved and even targeted by scams, so he chose to be a motivator and a guiding light.
“It’s crazy to have a half a million entrepreneurs who need help, and nobody is there to offer them any practical and truthful advice,” he adds. This is how Fred decided to take the leap and devise a plan to help new business owners. “You know, some people thought that my idea was stupid, but you’ll always have negative opinions. You can’t give up simply on the basis of that.” Today, Fred Cary is followed by hundreds of thousands of people on social media who are eager to receive his tips and advice. “I want to give entrepreneurs jet fuel, in a way, and help them skyrocket their new ventures,” shares Cary.
