After more than 30 years, Chanda Zaveri, who came to the US in 1984 as a penniless young Indian girl from Kolkata, India, to escape an arranged marriage and pursue her studies in biology, returned home to arrange a yearly gift in her name to fund cancer research at the University of Kolkata.
Today Ms. Zaveri is President and Founder of Actiogen Corporation, parent company of SkinHealix, makers of scientifically formulated skin care products which are often described as astonishing!
Chanda has been a pioneer in the evolution of skin care since 1994 when she began developing a series of products based on unique peptide chemistry. Her understanding of biological cell structures and their interaction with peptides has made her one of the world’s leading experts in peptide chemistry.
Zaveri uses her expertise to develop formulas that are functional and often optimized with nano-technology to provide maximum health benefits to the skin. This commitment is driven by her extraordinary intellect, knowledge and personal experience. During her college years, after being diagnosed with a medical condition that left her skin severely damaged, Zaveri began to focus on developing products that revitalized the skin, relieved pain and reversed the adverse effects of harsh medical treatments.
Education:
Ms. Zaveri received a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Kolkata at the age of seventeen. She also attended the University of California at Santa Barbara for a degree in genetics. Subsequent graduate studies were undertaken at California Institute of Technology (Caltech). During that time she met and worked with two-time Nobel Laureate Linus Pauling, an experience which led to her early adoption of using Vitamin C in skincare products and also led to her study of molecular structures in the skin. Ms. Zaveri then chose to pursue her own scientific visions as a private entrepreneur. The respect enjoyed by Ms. Zaveri among her scientific and medical colleagues rightly confirms her status as an innovative and leading personality in the expanding world of biotechnology and cosmetology.
Businesses:
Ms. Zaveri holds several patents and has received many awards, most notably for her discoveries in skin pigmentation and formation. For more than seven years, she has worked diligently to combine her research findings with marketable applications in cosmetics and nutraceuticals. Ms. Zaveri has built a company that specializes in peptide chemistry and pharmaceutical innovations.
Her initial investigation into dermaceuticals started in 1993 with the creation of a biologically active peptide that stimulated collagen synthesis. This technology, known as B2 Actigen, served as the sole intellectual property asset of Ms. Zaveri’s initial corporate endeavor, Geneda Corporation, which she founded in 1994. After moving onwards in 2011 to create the Actiogen Corporation, Ms. Zaveri continued her work in dermaceuticals and shifted her focus toward the evolving science of biologically active wound healing products. Her most recent contributions include innovative developments in cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals, wound-healing technology and cancer chemotherapeutics.
Successes:
The first peptide Ms. Zaveri created was B2 Actigen to help improve collagen production in the skin. The idea for this development came from her own personal observations when she was exposed to radioactive particles in her laboratory. Zaveri recognized the beneficial application of placing the peptide in skin cream formulas to mend collagen degeneration symptoms.
One of the first clients for this peptide was Emami Group, which has used in it their Fair and Handsome products since 2002.
Ms. Zaveri also has formulated skin lightening, anti-aging and sunscreen products for many prominent and well known international skincare companies.
In 2011, Ms. Zaveri established a new company called Actiogen. Today her company creates scientific peptide-based skincare products such as anti-aging, acne, cleansers, toners, and day and night creams. Her company is projecting $ 1.4 billion in revenue for 2020, and is backed by a wealthy London businessman with sufficient recourses to allow Actiogen to reach every point on the Earth with its products.
In 2018, Zaveri affiliated with a dynamic new cosmetic company based in Beverly Hills, California named Pink Beverly Hills. With Ms Zaveri’s assistance, Pink Beverly Hills held a soft launch in Dubai which saw in attendance Royals from all over the world.
Pink Beverly Hills aims to become an elite cosmetic company, combining Ms. Zaveri’s the globe. Pink Beverly Hills is now reaching Into Europe, North America and the Pacific Rim / Australia / New Zealand. The Pink Beverly Hills line abundantly represents ongoing scientific breakthroughs with benefits for aging, damaged and healthy skin.
