Ready to be impressed? Say hello to two of our 40 impressive founders under 40, Bernard Edwards and Matt Rommel, both based in Seattle. As we explore our collection of bold risk-takers, these two military veterans are putting a new twist on on what life looks like after wearing the uniform.

Since transitioning from the military in 2014 Bernard Edwards has had quite the entrepreneurial journey. He’s freelanced as a marketing consultant on campaigns with companies like PBS, the NFL, USAA, and FedEx. He has also been head of business development for a multimillion dollar Sotheby’s Realty team that led to winning the coveted Honolulu Top 100 Realtors award.

Now since relocating to the Seattle tech hub, he’s set his sites on adding Product Management to his consulting bag. Additionally Bernard is also launching Crushing Transition, an online platform that will not only empower his fellow veterans as they take the uniform off, but will also serve to guide college graduates, professional athletes, and executives as they experience career change.

Since transitioning from the military, Matt Rommel, originally from Kentucky, has settled down in the Pacific Northwest and become quite the go-to photographer and videographer for weddings, portraits, real estate, and other commercial organizations.

Matt has recently been nominated for the Seattle Bride Magazine Best of 2020 Wedding Photographer. This busy creative entrepreneur was also booked to film the region’s most recent TEDx event.

Matt and Bernard are not ones to rest on their laurels and since meeting have looked to combine their creative entrepreneurial capabilities and launch a new project together that will highlight the modern military veteran journey. We can’t wait to follow up and learn more about the collaboration of these two Seattle based founders.
