Caring for Employees by Addressing Practical Needs, Warming Hearts and Uniting Strength with Compassion

At the construction site of the Yuanhe Waterway Enhancement Project undertaken byThe Sixth Engineering (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. of CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., amidst the roaring machinery and busy workers, a warm current flows consistently. The project department has integrated “addressing practical needs for the people” into its daily routine and implemented it substantively. Through thoughtful measures, it tackles pressing and difficult issues that cause worry, and warms employees’ hearts with meticulous service, ensuring the project construction demonstrates not only “progress” but also “warmth.”

The core of addressing practical needs lies in “precision,” which in turn depends on understanding employees’ true sentiments. To this end, the project department has established a quarterly online survey mechanism, focusing on core areas such as the working environment, labor protection, living conditions, and welfare. This allows employees to voice their opinions through the surveys and ensures every appeal receives a response. To date, the project department has collected 78 valid questionnaires and identified 15 specific appeals, including optimizing cafeteria meals and upgrading accommodation facilities.

To ensure these appeals are not ignored, the project department has built a full-process closed-loop system of “collection – rectification – feedback.” Currently, the resolution rate for reported issues has reached 93%. In response to feedback from some employees about dish spiciness levels, the project’s DMA (Dietary Managers Association) collaborated with cafeteria chefs to dynamically adjust the menu and optimize dish combinations based on employee taste preferences, turning the challenge of “catering to diverse tastes” into a success. Furthermore, to improve the dining environment, the committee purchased fly-proof door curtains, enhanced daily cleaning, added fly traps, and created a more reassuring dining atmosphere for employees.

Focusing on Details Multi-dimensional Safeguards Weave a “Warmth Net”

From “living comfortably” to “eating assuredly,” and from “smooth commuting” to “leisure and entertainment,” the project department permeates care for people’s livelihood into every corner of employees’ lives.

Regarding accommodation, responding to employees’ requests for desks, the project department equipped each dormitory room with two desks. It also comprehensively upgraded air conditioners and furniture in the residential area, regularly inspecting the condition of electrical appliances and furniture, giving employees a sense of home even at the project frontline. For commuting, the project’s comprehensive office standardized the vehicle dispatch process. Through specialized briefings with drivers, it improved response times for vehicle dispatch and enhanced vehicle cleanliness, achieving dual improvements in service efficiency and team image. In terms of daily life, the project department planned ahead for recreational and sports facilities at the new site. It renovated the old playground, basketball court, and soccer field, refurbished the recreation and sports activity room, and added fitness equipment. This provides employees with space to relieve stress and strengthen their bodies after busy work.

Anchored by Needs Government-Enterprise Collaboration Draws a “Circle of Warmth”

Due to the remote location of the project site and weak surrounding infrastructure, employees’ daily life needs were somewhat constrained.

To solve these needs, the project department proactively reached out and communicated with the local township government, building a bridge for government-enterprise mutual assistance and cooperation. Driven jointly by both sides, local volunteer service teams now regularly station at the project department, providing employees with services like free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, health consultations, and haircuts. Medical volunteers answer various health questions from employees and offer targeted wellness advice; hairdressing volunteers trim hair according to employees’ preferences, allowing everyone to return to work with a refreshed look. These heartwarming initiatives through government-enterprise collaboration precisely fill the service gaps at the remote site, making employees feel tangible care. This not only shortens the distance with the local community but also continuously enhances employees’ sense of belonging and happiness.

Through detailed rectification plans and numerous warm, detailed measures, the Yuanhe Waterway Enhancement Project department has transformed employees’ “problem list” into a “happiness list.” The project department will continue to pay attention to employees’ reasonable needs, consistently implement the philosophy of “addressing practical needs and doing good deeds” throughout the entire project construction process, and continuously inject humanistic warmth into enhancing team cohesion.
