Here’s a glimpse into some of the most shocking results that have defined the season’s narrative so far.

Manchester United 3-0 Bournemouth: Cherries stun Old Trafford

In a stunning turn of events, Bournemouth pulled off a sensational 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, extending their fine run of form to five games without defeat.

Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing, and Marcos Senesi found the back of the net, while VAR disallowed a fourth goal for the Cherries.

The defeat sent shockwaves through Manchester United and raised questions about their consistency and defensive solidity at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Red Devils head to the City Ground on December 30, and need to prevail on their status as favourites in the Nottingham Forest vs Man United odds to get their season back on track.

Fulham 5-0 West Ham: Cottagers hammer the Hammers

On the same gameweek as Bournemouth’s shock win over Man United, Fulham delivered a footballing masterclass at Craven Cottage — trashing West Ham 5-0.

Raul Jimenez, Willian and Tosin Adarabioyo scored in the first half, while Harry Wilson and Carlos Vinicius added to the rut in the second 45 minutes — leaving the Hammers shellshocked.

The result showcased Fulham’s attacking prowess and left a lasting impression on the league, proving that on any given day, even the most established teams can face an unexpected drubbing.

Luton 1-1 Liverpool: Hatters hold the Reds

In a surprising twist at Kenilworth Road, Luton Town nearly secured a famous win against Liverpool.

Although Tahith Chong appeared to have secured all three points for the Hatters when he scored with 10 minutes to spare, Liverpool managed to salvage a 1-1 draw thanks to a dramatic late equaliser from Luis Diaz.

The match highlighted the resilience of smaller teams and proved that, in football, nothing is guaranteed.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Manchester City: Wolves rip apart the champions

Wolverhampton Wanderers, facing low expectations after limited summer investment and the departure of Julen Lopetegui, defied the Premier League odds with a 2-1 victory over defending champions Manchester City at Molineux.

Ruben Dias gifted Wolves the lead with an own goal in the 13th minute and despite Julian Alvarez grabbing an equaliser for Man City in the second half, Wolves kept fighting and Hwang Hee-Chan scored the winning goal for the hosts.

The result showcased Wolves’ ability to punch above their weight and demonstrated the competitive balance in the Premier League, where any team can emerge victorious on their day.

Sheffield United 0-8 Newcastle United – Magpies’ rampant display

While a victory for Newcastle United at Bramall Lane may not be considered a shock, how they decimated Sheffield United was nothing short of astonishing.

Eight different scorers — Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak — contributed to the Magpies’ emphatic 8-0 win.

This resounding victory stands as the biggest loss of the season and a testament to Newcastle’s attacking prowess.
