Patrick Bleak, CEO of Street Broker, isn’t just a business leader; he’s a symbol of transformation. Overcoming addiction and embracing fitness, his journey embodies resilience and the power of self-belief. Now, his mission is to guide others on their paths to become healthier, fitter, and more confident.
“I got rid of all my vices, and now I’m addicted to success,” he said. “I want to help others see the light and free themselves from addiction.”
Early Struggles and Awakening
Bleak’s story is one of transformation from a childhood shadowed by addiction and a chaotic family life.
He recounted, “I took my first drink at probably 3 years old, with a home that was far from okay. My childhood was a mess. It traumatized me, and I couldn’t be more proud of how far I have come. My goal is to help others do the same.”
His journey through rehab at 15, AA at 18, and a return to rehab at 26, was marked by legal troubles and near-death experiences.
“Waking up on the highway, covered in blood — these stories are mine,” he shared, painting a vivid picture of his tumultuous past. “If I can stop someone else from having stories like that of their own, just one person, I will have done my job.”
The Pillars of Recovery: Mindset, Nutrition, and Lifestyle
For Bleak, recovery encompassed more than just sobriety, he knew he needed a complete lifestyle overhaul.
“I invested in learning from the great West Watson. He taught me how to understand my body type, how to eat, and exercise,” he explained. “But it’s one thing to go through a fitness journey as a ‘normal person,’ and entirely another to do it as an addict. That’s where I come in: I am bridging the gap for those who dream of a better life for themselves.”
Bleak went on to explain that while not true of every addict, many feel they either do not deserve or are completely incapable of becoming a new person. For him, being more ‘no-nonsense’ and assertive than gentle and understanding, was the key. For those seeking a coach who won’t mess around, Bleak fits the bill.
“If you feel like you can’t, you can,” he said. “If I can change my life through sheer grit alone, anyone can. And if you’re ready to stop acting like you can’t change and are ready to take responsibility, I’m your guy.”
Bleak’s journey was not just about physical fitness; it was about reshaping his mindset and nutrition.
“The first step in recovery is focusing on diet. It’s about getting closer to God, no matter what you believe in,” Patrick emphasized, underlining the spiritual aspect of his transformation. He also highlights the importance of mindset: “90% of life is confidence. When you’re not confident, you’re in a bad spot.”
Aspiring to Inspire
Bleak’s transformation led to the mending of relationships with family and friends.
“My family is deeply involved in my life now; we even went to Disney together,” he said.
Bleak’s ambitions extend beyond his personal achievements; he aspires to build a community and influence others through his social media presence.
“I want to continue to change lives, especially for those in recovery,” he stated.
Living in the Present
Today, Bleak lives a life marked by simplicity and focus.
“My life now revolves around the gym, good food, and living in the present,” he shared.
Beyond Bleak’s personal success, his goal is to keep growing his community for addicts in recovery, providing support and guidance.
In just four months, life can transform. This belief, borne from his own remarkable transformation, is what he now shares with the world, one recovery story at a time.
