In the social network X, Russian-speaking users began to actively use the hashtag #ElonVisitAIJ along with memes and jokes about the fact that Elon Musk should come to Russia. Tweets with appeals are also published in the comments under the billionaire’s posts.
The story started a few days ago when the European media published an article indicating that Elon Musk should come to Russia for the upcoming AI Journey 2023 conference on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
There, according to the sources, Musk was supposed to present his latest development Grok, the neural network from xAI. Actually many experts have already said that Grok will compet with OpenAI’s ChatGPT on the neural network market.
But, as it turned out later, the information was unreliable. The Organizing Committee of the conference promptly issued a statement with a rebuttal, emphasizing that Elon Musk is not on the list of speakers. But at the same time the organizers noted that they will be glad if he participate.
As a result we have this flash mob of Russian-speaking X users who decided to take matters into their own hands and invite Musk to Russia by themselves. Whether they will succeed is still unclear.
