The story of David Johnson, the founder and CEO of the Dallas-based, affiliate marketing company Ever Prosper, shows that any of us can, indeed, find the success we seek if we are willing to work for it and think differently.
“At Ever Prosper, I am having a great time working with small businesses and Fortune 500 corporations to increase their sales using our customized digital marketing strategies,” says David. “However, my company wasn’t always so successful. I wasn’t even in the online marketing industry. Instead, I was working with Chief Operating Officer Cassandra Johnson in the service industry, where we survived paycheck to paycheck.”
David reveals that as he worked for years in customer service, call centers, and cable TV installation, he was always grateful for the ability to provide for himself and his family. However, he grew frustrated with the precariousness of his finances, as paychecks were immediately spent, and he also sensed that he could do more with his life.
“I had always been fascinated by the stories of entrepreneurs and thought that digital marketing sounded like a lot of fun,” says David. “I had just sat on the sidelines for a long time, looking at the life I wanted for myself and my family but unable to provide it. That all changed when I decided to step forward and reinvent myself and my career. I chose to go after the life I really wanted with everything I had.”
With money in short supply, David resolved to teach himself everything he could about online marketing for businesses. He read every book he could get his hands on, taking notes, and he listened to the advice of industry experts. When David founded Ever Prosper in 2015, he faced the same battle encountered by every new entrepreneur: how to cultivate clients. He put his own online marketing strategies to the test, and the phone started to ring.
“It only took about six months for my family and me to be 100% supported by Ever Prosper,” he says. “Granted, it was six months of very hard work, which continues today, but my dreams of being a self-sufficient entrepreneur and of leaving the service industry were realized. I was able to come alongside large organizations and form partnerships that kept pushing Ever Prosper higher in the industry.”
