Aspen is one of the most exclusive and high-end places in the United States of America. The old silver mining town has a lot to offer, this guide will make sure you have the inside scoop!

The Slopes

There are four ski resorts in Aspen: Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Snowmass and Aspen Highlands. Your choice of ski area should depend on your skiing/snowboarding skills. No matter where you choose to stay, you’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rocky Mountains. Whether you ski or not, you must take the Gondola – 11,212 feet up to the top of Aspen mountain. The views are simply breathtaking!

Bring your notebook or drawing pad and enjoy the sundeck with a bar and cafeteria on top. Considering the posh crowd that frequents the Aspen slopes, you may experience some celebrity encounters during your stay. You never know with whom you might share a ski lift; it could be any one of many local celebrities such as Kevin Costner, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

The variety of experiences in Aspen keeps it interesting! Aspen Mountain and Aspen Highlands are recommended for those who are comfortable with their skills; for beginners, the resorts like Buttermilk and Snowmass are likely to be more suitable.

Breakfast / Work Spot

ink! Coffee: As one who fasts, I take no breakfast other than mushroom ‘coffee’, green tea, or matcha. [Occasionally I’ll have a regular coffee.] Whether you are staying in a hotel or an Airbnb, the morning walk to ink! Coffee will be a sheer pleasure, as your eyes behold the beautiful scenery that surrounds you in the Rocky Mountains.

Café ink! is located close to the Aspen Gondola. Sitting on the bench across from the Gondola, sipping a matcha, enjoying the spectacular views, and breathing in the mountain air is one of the most wonderful ways one can achieve wellness for both body and soul.

Lunch

Alpine Bistro:

This is a super “Gemutlich”, which in German means a cozy place. I was lucky to experience the ambience that really made me feel as if I was at home in Germany. It’s a very cool and hip spot for any occasion, and will surely impress your date, or your friends! The marvelous dishes like the fondue are a must try for every cheese lover!

Dinner and Nightlife

Betula:

The dinner experience at Betula is a must!!! Everything at this restaurant is incredibly on point. From the elegant hostess who greets you, the sophisticated décor, the fabulously presented meals, and the outstanding service to the live DJ, this place has a great ambience; it’s a cool hangout with a luxurious feel.

The cuisine by Chef Laurent Cantineaux is a real explosion of flavors, and as you experience every delicious note, you’ll be continuously surprised. It doesn’t matter if it’s a romantic date or if you want to treat yourself; this is the place to do it and the best way to finish a successful day apres ski! My chosen cocktail of the night was the delicious Paloma, in a pretty bird-shaped glass with an orchid and smoked salt on the rim; even after having three of these, I did not feel it the next day, which is unusual for me. I’ll be sure to return to Betula either in Aspen or to its sister restaurant, Bonito St. Barth.

Escobar: If you’re looking for a place that’s a great after-dinner hangout, go to Escobar – and ask for Corey.

Art & Culture

The Aspen Art Museum always has something going on: currently, the winter-long exhibition, “Andy Warhol: Lifetimes”, featuring some explicit nudes, and other lesser-known works, is running through March 27th. Other venues such as the Eden Gallery will keep art lovers entertained. Rustic-looking buildings and little chapels give Aspen its special romantic look.

Relax

St.Regis: This is a great spot to have a tea and get some work done, before getting to the Spa which makes you feel like you’re in a different world. I can sit all day in the oxygen lounge where they serve champagne, tea, nuts, and M&Ms. This was followed by a steam bath and some time in a hot jacuzzi.

I was able to experience all that while waiting for my massage.

Customized Massage

Blending relaxation and therapeutic massage, while using CBD Healing Creme and CBD Muscle Rub by That’s Natural, the beautiful massage therapist Shannon creates a customized massage specifically.

Shannon adds enhancements that make for a truly unique massage. She first begins by prepping the body using dry brush that helps with lymphatic drainage and exfoliation. For extra care for feet, Shannon applies paraffin for a deep heat that helps moisturize and revive cold tired feet. For areas that could use a bit deeper pressure, she used a Hypervolt massage gun that uses percussion to massage on a deeper level. For a head-to-toe experience, she completed the service with a scalp massage using Moroccan Oil leave-in conditioner. It was refreshing and very calming.

The Green Joint Aspen

This recreational dispensary offers the most efficient product recommendation regarding products for anxiety. [It might have saved my marriage!] Ask for Ben.

Get your psychic reading and an energy cleansing with a mountain view by a beautiful angel, Jawee, in one of Aspen’s parks. She is the one who gave me my spiritual wedding at the top of the ASPEN Mountain, as well as the one that fixes my imbalance finites, as necessary.

Shopping

You will find many luxury brands like Moncler and Chanel but never an H&M or a McDonald’s. For grocery shopping, I’d recommend the great City Market.
