One decision can completely transform a person’s life. Mackenzie Thompson went from Tasmania to Sydney when he was 18 years old to finish his education. He lost his job when he was 20 and spent a year living with his mother. Mackenzie chose to establish his company after reading multiple business books. He established himself as a successful entrepreneur in the Facebook Marketplace after multiple ups and downs.
After losing his job at the age of 20, Mackenzie Thompson moved back home with his mother and spent a year studying business. He gained a lot of knowledge about innovative technology and the E-Commerce industry. Mackenzie launched his E-Commerce business a year later, but it failed miserably. As a result, he decided to launch his business on Facebook Marketplace, where he would assist individuals with computer solutions and software.
Failure can terrify people, causing them to abandon their aspirations. Even the tech entrepreneur had his moments of gloom. When asked how he kept himself encouraged during the tough times, Mackenzie shares. “I’ve felt like giving up hundreds of times. It wasn’t until I moved to Thailand that I began to seriously meditate and practise jiu-jitsu. I learned to regulate my emotions and realised that the stress of ordinary life isn’t so bad when you’re used to being punched, choked, and having your arms bent in directions they’re not supposed to go. Either learn to always find a way out of a difficult position, or tap, learn from it, and try again. With each passing year, you will progress.”
Well, not giving up and working hard on his dreams paid off quite well for Mackenzie Thompson. Today, he sells tech solutions and software to many talented entrepreneurs like him. He is also a key personality in Facebook Marketplace, which helps his clients with better sales. Mackenzie describes his achievements as, “The company is producing a $15-20k weekly profit and is currently in the process of smoothing out systems to scale up. I have a bachelor’s degree, a BJJ blue belt (soon to be a purple belt), and excellent Russian language skills. Over 1000 marketing, business, and psychology books have been read by me. My relationships with my family and friends are wonderful.”
