Without a doubt, immigration in the US continues to grow, from different types of professionals along with willingness to work for a better future or looking for better opportunities. It is a privilege to risk it all to be able to achieve professional goals and contribute knowledge to the growth of one of the world’s strongest economies like the one in the United States of America. It does not take one to know in depth about USA history to acknowledge the role immigration has had in its greatness and growth, always becoming a destiny for outstanding rich professionals seeking a better-quality life with the willingness to invest, manage and assume strategic positions in strong companies.

There are countless stories of successful professionals that came to the USA, and many have even been able to achieve the well desired and fought-for American Dream. It is hard to believe someone who does not personally know a person with an outstanding story.  This is the case of Lorenzo Pedone, another outstanding Italian who came to the US to make a difference, and it is recently being greatly rewarded.

He graduated cum laude in Bari College as an education major and later continued his academic career abroad with various international studies on hospitality and tourism, in different places in Latin America and the USA, contributing to his unique and globalized point of view for the optimum customer care and experience. With this in mind, it is a no-brainer that he is a great— maybe even perfect—fit specifically for Florida’s growth and development.

Lorenzo Pedone is the recently named Director of Revenue Management at InterContinental Miami Downtown Hotel, one of the hotels that stands out the most from the InterContinental Hotels Group in Florida, featuring the city’s premier accommodations.

In tourism and hospitality, the competition and expectations are continuously evaluated by a demanding crowd with all the “working with the public” entails. For this reason, the awards throughout the career of a professional in this field says a lot on the person’s ability to change, improve, evolve, and offer outstanding and unique service.

To mention some of the many outstanding accomplishments Lorenzo Pedone has had throughout his career, the first one to begin with would be the Bridgestone-Firestone Bari Award back in 2001 for his excellence achievement in high school in Italy, followed by a nomination for employee of the month for the  IHG “Chase the Extraordinary” challenge 2007 Latin America award due to his work in the Crowne Plaza Maruma Maracaibo Hotel. And at that same hotel, he was later awarded as employee of the month, until October in 2010 he was acknowledge for “Manager of the Quarter” in Holiday Inn Resort Aruba in December 2014, “Revenue Manager of the year” for best performance in “Best Revenue Manager during distressed/ low demand periods” from the IHG Mexico, Latin America & Caribbean Region, that was given to him in the Annual Revenue Conference of 2016 in Cancun, Mexico.

In 2019, he obtained a Master Certificate in Revenue Management of Cornell University and was also the winner of the 2020  Revenue Master Challenge LatAm on behalf of My Revenue- CO, where he was selected from 23 other candidates from all over  Latin America and Spain. Lastly, at the beginning of this year, he received a certified Executive Leadership from Cornell University.

All this background proves that his abilities and skills as a professional will continue to become meaningful contributions to the unstoppable growth of a globalized tourism and setting the key steps to take to guide the paramount contribution of tourism to trade and development leading Florida to continuous success.
