Exactly 10 years after the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, fans plan to gather at Jackson’s last home in the Holmby Hills neighbourhood of Los Angeles. It was here that the singer received a fatal dose of the anaesthetic propofol on the afternoon of 25th June, 2009. He died at the age of 50.

His death was a massive cult phenomenon. It led to revival of his songs and brought forward a lot of public affection. After his criminal trial, it was hard for the singer as he received a lot of media hatred. But his death gained a lot of sympathy, and his music revived. The social media also went into mass mourning.

Recently there was documentary “Leaving Neverland”, which refreshed the memories of the MJ Fans. It brought back child molestation charges against Michael Jackson. And it also threatened to taint his image after his death. Even his family and friends have spoken on support of him and defended his image. They denied any made up stories made up by the documentary.

Michael Jackson’s estate paid tribute to the artist and the charitable acts he did. The estate called onto fans to prepare and gather to celebrate the singer’s memory. In a statement made by Jackson estate to the Associated Press, it said “Ten years ago today, the world lost a gifted artist and extraordinary humanitarian. A decade later, Michael Jackson is still with us, his influence embedded in dance, fashion, art and music of the moment. He is more important than ever.”

The estate encouraged fans to engage in charitable acts. It said “whether it’s planting a tree, volunteering at a shelter, cleaning up a public space or helping someone who is lost find their way…. This is how we honour Michael”.

Fans made a plan to gather at Jackson’s last home in the Holmby Hills, and they also plan to do a vigil at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California where Jackson is laid to rest.
