Taper fade haircuts are easy to get and maintain. The stylist makes a fade on the sides while keeping the top and back hair longer. The fade starts with bigger hair which is reduced until it blends well with the skin. The final haircut looks sharp and neat, with well-done sides and top.

Most people prefer the taper fade hairstyle because it takes a short time to achieve and maintain the hair. Besides, you can do a wash and go in the morning if you are in a hurry, and it does not require many expensive hair products to keep. Also, taper fade wearers have a variety of styles to try.

  • What You Need For A Taper Fade

One advantage of a taper fade haircut is that it is not very picky with hair. However, you should not have very long hair because it will not look neat. If your hair ranges between 2 and 4 inches, you can go for a taper fade haircut.

You can also choose how short the stylist is to leave the hair at the crown. Some people leave as short as 1 inch, while others can grow to 4 inches. However, remember that too short hair at the crown will make the taper fade less visible.

There are other factors to consider when choosing the size of the hair at the crown or sides. For example, if you have a scar near the ears or crown, you select a length that does not show your scar.

  • Ways To Style The Taper Fade

The styling depends on the size of the hair left after the cut. The simple styles need a comb to keep the hair neat. However, if you got complicated styles like the Mohawk, you need styling gel to hold the hair in the places you want the hair to be all day long. You can also ask your stylist to help you choose the style that flaunts your facial features and head shape.

If you have decided to go for the taper fade but don’t know which style to get, don’t worry. Here are some taper fade hairstyles you can try. When going to the stylist, carry a picture to help them understand the final look you want to get.

  • Neat Fade With A Curly Top

This taper fade haircut will fit you well if you have naturally curly hair. The stylist leaves more volume at the top and fades the sides. The curls at the top make the faded sides more visible and look good. The fade drops towards the cheeks to blend with the beard perfectly.

  • Fauxhawk

Faux hawks are classic haircuts and common. The hairstyle features longer hair at the crown, and the fade starts at the back towards the sides. The style requires minimal care and maintenance, although you need hair gel to keep the strands together. You can ask your stylist to help you style it in a fohawk.

  • High Taper Fade

You can start the fade farther high in the head. The stylist cuts the hair until it is two inches long and fades it more towards the ears until you can see the skin. The high taper fade is also easy to achieve and maintain.

  • Low Taper Fade And A Pompadour

The stylist starts with a very low fade from the ears and increases the hair size towards the top. However, the hair at the crow is left longer. The wearer can use gel to style or comb and go. If you have black hair, this style will look good on you.

  • Afro Taper Fade

Black men mostly wear this hairstyle because they have thick and strong strands. The type C hair can be combed upwards to make an afro. To break the monotony of your afro, you can get the taper fade on the sides.

  • Comb Over

If you have longer hair at the top, you can comb it on the sides to make a part. The style is worn mainly by bald men because combing the hair to the sides hides the receding hairline.
