Cleaning Services Are Getting Busier in 2022

Even though the world is more than two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, the cleaning business is showing no signs of slowing down.

There was an initial boom in the request of COVID cleaning services in the early parts of 2020. Most people were afraid about how they could catch the new virus, which is why rigorous cleaning of homes and businesses became commonplace.

Even two years later, we are still seeing a lot of requests from companies and individual clients regarding deep cleans.

Below is an explanation of why cleaning services are busier than ever in 2022.

People Care More About Cleanliness

Most businesses started requesting professional cleaning services to ensure they were doing everything to prevent outbreaks among their employees and customers. A lot of the general wisdom centered around handwashing and wiping down surfaces, which is why deep cleaning made sense.

A business also had to take action each time there was a case within their office, which often meant closing down the place for a day to conduct a thorough cleaning.

Such cleaning may no longer be necessary, but people care a lot more about cleanliness and hygiene than they did two years ago. That is why companies are continuing to hire janitors and cleaning service professionals for daily or weekly cleaning. Every business wants to present customers with the impression that they are walking into a very clean establishment.

Pandemic Theater

There is no denying that a lot of the cleaning that takes place at businesses is pandemic theater. A business wants to show that it is doing everything to comply with local, state, and government regulations pertaining to COVID-19.

While some of those regulations involve testing and vaccinations, cleaning is also a component of what businesses are expected to do each week. No company wants to get into trouble with customers, clients, or the government because they are failing to provide people with a safe and sanitary environment to work, gather, or shop in.

Businesses that are in the entertainment or service sectors are even more focused on maintaining the impression of a very clean workspace. They want customers to choose their establishment over others in the area. Having professionals clean the entire location each day or week is a great way to make a positive impression with respect to the competition.

Increase in Residential Cleaning Requests

Businesses are not the only customers for professional cleaners in 2022. The reason cleaners are kept so busy is that homeowners throughout the United States are requesting their services at a greater frequency than before.

One of the reasons for the increase is due to people spending more time at home. Rather than spending all their time outside the house, families and friend groups gather at private residences, which means they want to keep their living and entertaining spaces clean and spotless.

If someone is hosting a party or small gathering, they want their guests to feel safe. Hiring professionals to clean the place before and after the event is one way to leave a positive impression on guests while ensuring the living space is in great condition as well.

Commercial Entities Must Focus on Ventilation Too

Cleaning service professionals are very happy to get more calls from businesses regarding deep cleans and routine cleaning. Business owners, however, must not put all their eggs in the deep cleaning basket when they try to take measures against COVID-19.

Cleaning common surfaces and deep cleaning after a slate of positive cases are useful strategies, they are, however, not enough on their own. A business must also focus on ventilation if they want to prevent cases within their workforce and among customers.

Opening windows and using big fans to move fresh air inside a business can be a helpful way to keep people safe. Another option is to invest in high-end air conditioning and heating systems, which include filters that clean the air throughout the day.

Outlook for the Cleaning Industry is Positive

Market trends are showing that the cleaning sector is likely to experience a lot of growth in the coming years. There has already been significant progress since pre-2020, which is why many people are surprised to see the surge continue.

A combination of people spending more time at home, caring more about hygiene, and having more disposable income means that requests for home cleaning are at an all-time high.

The same is true for commercial cleaning, with businesses in every sector wanting to keep their office spaces, storefronts, and warehouses as sanitary as possible.
