Plex is the solution for you if you are working from home in the pandemic world and are looking for a home media server setup. The service makes sure all your music, movie, shows and files host and stream from a single location. There is no need for various box sets. If you have a solid server Plex is there for you to make most of it. A capable network-attached storage (NAS) enclosure works best with Plex.

You can choose to build your own system if you have the technical know how. If you are looking to purchase the complete setup and just use it then there are many solutions available for Plex. But remember not every NAS enclosure and processor runs the Plex Media Server the same way. Thus choose wisely from all the options in the market.

You can look for affordable NAS for Plex but they might have less powerful processors. To choose the correct NAS you will have to look for an Intel-powered NAS. A high-end ARM processor will provide optimal performance if you are working on a budget and aren’t looking for an expensive solution. Do remember these are worth the price though as they will serve you for the long term. Make sure the NAS has the storage and features as per your requirement and then think about the investment.

The multi-core Intel Celeron processor is required for 4K trans coding especially when you have more than 1 Plex account streaming media at a time. Here you can choose to build your own NAS or buy a high-end pre-built NAS server enclosure. You will need a powerful CPU to trans code.
