Shikana Group is helping international investors make better choices in Africa!

The Shikana Group, founded by Amne Suedi, is an advisory firm specializing in investments in East Africa. Led by Amne, the Shikana Group helps foreign investors across the globe to understand how their business can grow in the potential lands of Africa. Amne is an entrepreneur who founded the ‘Shikana Group’ among her other businesses. She is an advisor for someone who is trying to expand their business in Africa. She is a counselor too, for someone who already has their business in Africa but aims to grow it.

The idea of the Shikana Group struck Amne when she was in Switzerland and heard how Europe would talk about Africa as a hopeless place with no progress but illness and poverty. This left her baffled and that’s when she decided to come to Africa with the goal to tell a different story. She had the choice to offer aid from overseas but no, she wanted real transformation. Today, she sits in Africa and observes the need to get more and more right projects to develop the people and the private sector. She wants foreign private capital to be channeled in the right place and utilized efficiently.

Amne believes that poverty will end in Africa only through investing in sustainable ventures that create jobs and impact the common lives. She knows that wealth development and people development could be done only by attracting investments from all over the world into Africa. The people of Africa are strong and resilient. They deserve to progress and leave behind the poverty they have been living in. Africa has over 50 percent of youth today with so much talent to grow. Hence, the world should be available to them too.

Amne’s dream is to make people look at Africa differently, as a place of opportunity and real investment. She wants to inspire people in investing their money in the frontier markets where they can create impact and transformation. This will be a win-win situation for both the investors and the Africans. Amne wants to change the phrase ‘Poor Africa’ to ‘Rich, capable, hopeful and potential Africa’.

Amne started her business as a way to showcase Africa from a different angle but to also ensure that the investments really make an impression. Inviting more people to the continent will support people and families by creating jobs, transferring skills, less poverty; consequently, making a real difference. She is at the forefront of changing the perception and narrative of Africa. She has grown up in the western world but she wants to be in Africa to bridge the gap between the economies. She wants to bring better partnerships and futures between the west, east and Africa.

Her biggest dream is to be at the heart of the biggest and most impactful investments in Africa. She is one of a kind female entrepreneur who isn’t just expecting change but she is becoming one.
