The breathwork healer, Niraj Naik founded an international school of SOMA Breathwork, where he uses the knowledge, he acquired during his self-healing quest. The community has a wide membership internationally and is expanding even further through the rise of the online SOMA Breath masterclass. Of the many reasons behind SOMA Inc.’s success, the team and the business model that allows hundreds of instructors around the world to teach the technique. When interviewed, Naik shared his unique business elements of his rapidly growing SOMA Breathwork community.

Firstly, according to Niraj, the key to achieving objectives in a team is to keep the groups small, matching the amount of work that is needed to be done. Evidently, in the core SOMA team, there are less than ten people who are like a family rather than colleagues. They get along well and try to incorporate positive energy at the workplace. The family atmosphere is motivating for everyone to stay productive, loyal, and keep focusing on growth.

Secondly, Naik suggests hiring team based on their core values instead of solely qualification or whatever is provided in the CV; for many skills can be acquired, self-taught, and improved upon. Beliefs, personality, and concepts about the world are much more solidified, and ideally, it is better to hire people who share core values. This simple step in selection will ensure that the company advances in the right direction and stays aligned with your goals.

Thirdly, having regular meetings and communicating with fellow team members is important as each person should be provided with an opportunity to voice their opinions on certain matters. According to Naik, at the time of delegating tasks at SOMA, members are encouraged to choose what they love to do instead rather than pushed to tasks they do not enjoy. This method ensures that the team will enjoy their work, work efficiently and stay motivated.

Finally, the skills acquired by the instructors of SOMA Breath are one of a kind, they are taught to be flexible to incorporate different breathing techniques to personalize the method for their clients. “The breathwork techniques taught in SOMA Breath are the core Pranayama sequences that have the most scientific evidence to support their function. With an understanding of how each breathwork techniques work, SOMA Breath instructors have the skills to arrange the breathwork techniques into a personalized sequence to meet their objectives. There is no one size fits all, and that’s been a key factor in SOMA Breath’s widening success and impact.” as stated by Niraj Naik.

Due to these elements, SOMA Inc. is thriving and we are here to see it reach even more people and help them walk towards wellness.
