Cybersecurity is a problem that is only getting bigger as modern society progresses. The largest enterprises employ leagues of full-time security professionals to guard their networks and to protect the VPN connections that support remote workers.

But even so, breaches happen on a continual basis. The network can only support what it can “see” within its connected and managed devices. The pace of exploit attempts is so heavy, in fact, the network activity it takes to combat even the exploits the network can block can take a significant toll on bandwidth as well.

There’s also the issue of home security devices that present an open portal for intruders to breach and even reverse as a way to obtain images and information from inside the very homes the devices are meant to protect.

A Salt Lake City-based company, Guard Dog Solutions Inc., (guardDog.ai), has developed a solution based on Artifical Intelligence (AI) that allows your wireless network to provide edge territory security for the devices the network can’t “see” and manage, but can become unseen and unwitting tools in the hands of attackers, or can become breached and infected themselves as devices that lie beyond the VPN connection to the office or the perimeter of the home or workplace network to which you connect.

The phenomenon is called Edge Territory protection and has become the next frontier in cybersecurity protection, by providing Remote Network Management visibility.

For five years, a solution headed up by technology evangelist and CEO of GuardDog.ai Peter Bookman. Bookman is renowned in technology circles for prior development and successful exits in technology companies including Phobos, Realm, Fusion-IO and V3 Systems as well as V3’s acquiring organization Sphere 3D.

The guardDog solution is known as Protective Cloud Services (PCS) and employs advanced AI to identify known and probable exploits at the network’s edge and then to halt or prevent them before they are ever able to successfully complete an exploit attempt.

How bad is the problem? In 2019, this technology even prior to formally entering the market detected 140,000 exploit activities and 12,174 new exploits, preventing them from breaching and stealing information or attempting DDS disruptions, ransom attempts or phishing attacks.

GuardDog’s secret weapon is a small hardware device called “FIDO” that sits at every network router to deliver Protective Cloud Services to every consumer, inexpensively and simply. The device is simple enough that any consumer could purchase it directly from GuardDog.ai and install it in minutes.

The device “sniffs out” the attempts of attackers and halts them on the spot or takes evasive action as needed. Thanks to patented AI it’s even more effective than having a full-time team of the most advanced security experts on duty around the clock at your office or house.

Bookman sees a day when this level of protection is available to every home and every point of public wireless access. Taken to its full fruition, the cost of attempting an attack would make it so difficult and expensive for hackers it is no longer fruitful. GuardDog is the technology that could force the wireless attackers to give up and go home.
