A successful entrepreneur pushes the limit and works assiduously at achieving their goals. They intend to make a mark on the world and leave a legacy for others to remember. Prophecy Onasis, Chief Technical Officer for Vuuzle Media Group, is one entrepreneur who continues to push boundaries to be successful.

Onasis wants his legacy to be known as a person who tried to make everyone live in high definition. As a creator and innovator, Onasis builds online business models such as native apps and content delivery networks for entertainment. He has vast knowledge in monetizing short and long-form videos with programmatic advertising.

Growing Up in Denver

The entrepreneur who grew up in Denver, Colorado, attributes much of his success to his upbringing and the neighborhood in which he grew up. “I realized through the ’80s there were a lot of very talented kids around me. It was like the air bred nothing but greatness. I knew most of the kids I grew up around or were schoolmates with would be successful. To name a few, Don Cheadle, the actor he was in my drama class and the wealthiest black man in America, Robert Smith, also went to my school. That’s to name a few. I knew those guys would be somebody they already were. You could feel the energy in the hallways at East High School back then. It was very positive.”

Getting Help from Family

Even though Onasis has been able to build a successful career first as a producer and artist and now as the CTO of a significant Media Group, he admits that he has the help of family, particularly his wife, who has been a source of inspiration. They often say that behind every successful man is a strong, successful woman, and Onasis agrees. “My wife is my best motivator. She truly understands the championship mindset. She does not allow me to hit a low. She is my best friend. She is not a woman of opinionated destruction; she understands how to pivot, which is helpful. What makes us more interesting is my wife was a vet tech working with animals, and she shifted to ad tech about eight years ago. Now she is highly respected as a practitioner in the programmatic advertising space. So, we are on the same playing field working currently, and we enjoy it.”

Over the past few years, Prophecy has had the opportunity to partner with major Tech companies like Verizon, which has proved to be an impactful learning experience. This has given him insight into industry standards and has deepened his knowledge. “To even have a partnership with such an influential company as Verizon is an honor. We were invited to their headquarters in LA and were able to see The Nock, which is Verizon’s central intelligence for all their streaming technology. We also have been awarded the Brand Blazer award by Verizon for being leaders in how we use streaming technology solutions. That is a massive accomplishment for our whole team at Vuuzle.”
