Vaccertify – A Seattle Startup Creates A Prototype ‘Social Pass’ For COVID-19 Vaccine

Keeping your safety is above everything else, given the current pandemic. Everyone wants to be safe. Tests are being conducted regularly to check whether a person carries a virus or not. However, it is becoming hard to recognize whether a person is vaccinated or not. Even though vaccines aren’t entirely ready yet, it will be by 2021. Moderna and Pfizer are working on vaccines that are 95% effective.

In such a scenario, it will be hard only to take the word of a person who is vaccinated. You need to demand some proof. So, the Seattle Based startup Vaccertify came up with an idea. It is still in the making, so the design is a prototype that can provide an easy to use digital vaccination certificate for your phone.

The prototype displays your name, a picture of your face, which COVID-19 vaccination you received, and when the final shots were completed. To get a certificate from Vaccertify, customers will have to complete a COVID-19 vaccination, provide a government ID, and share a selfie.

Vaccertify is now in the making; the prototype has privacy features. It means that anyone who wants to see your certificate must have a specific pin to access your certificate.

The idea for this digital “social pass” for Covid-19 vaccines came to Tiara Lyons, who is the Co-Founder and CEO of the company. She said that when she started looking for a babysitter during a pandemic, it became really challenging. Tiara couldn’t trust the word of a baby sitter, and asking for a medical examination was too intrusive. So Tiara came up with the concept of Vaccertify.
