Finnish telecom company Nokia is getting into the market of manufacturing televisions. It will launch its first smart TV in India in partnership with Flipkart. The smart TV will be completely manufactured in India. This manufacturing will fall under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The Nokia TV has received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with model number 55CAUHDN. This certification confirms that the smart TV will have 55-inch panel and expected to have 4K Ultra HD resolution. The Nokia TV will be running Android 9.0 Pie and will also have Google Play Store installed on it. Even though this is becoming a huge craze among people, majority of the middle class are still relying on the perfect quality of a 19 inch smart tv. And owing to this craze, Nokia is coming up with numerous model sizes to cater to every audience.

The audio of the Nokia smart TV will feature superior audio quality due to JBL’s sound programme. The JBL by HARMAN makes high-quality audio equipment. This will mark HARMAN’s first foray into the television space in the country.

Flipkart will leverage its understanding of the needs of Indian consumers to develop, facilitate domestic manufacturing and distribution of Nokia-branded smart TVs and manage the end-to-end go-to-market strategy as part of the collaboration. The launch of the maiden Nokia Smart TV is supposed to take place in early December and it is expected to compete with OnePlus TV, Mi TV, and Motorola TV.
