Toronto got a new trending topic on the 13th August when everybody got unexpectedly surprised about CN Tower. It is the city’s beloved landmark and begun trending on Twitter rapidly. CP24 reported that the Toronto landmark began trending on Twitter due to the number of tourists snapping and sharing photos of it. This is seeming a convincing reason about the CN Tower trend on Twitter but there is no clear evidence about how the trend boosted up initially.

Cam Gordon is the head of Twitter in Canada. He said that the things which trend on Twitter can be organic and it is not necessary they can be related to an event or new item. People can be seen sharing #CNTower hashtag with memories of their last visit to Toronto and walk about its landmark, CN Tower. CN Tower has become one of the best Twitter trends of this year.

According to social media experts, Twitter’s algorithm is the deciding factor for telling what is trending on it. The algorithm looks at sharp spikes in popularity, as opposed to slow growth. That means Twitter trends are selected by a combination of volume and the time taken to create that volume. If there is a sudden increment for one day, then the topic will trend on Twitter.

CN Tower in Toronto is a historical place and it witnesses thousands of visitors each day. A large number of visitors across the world take photos and shoot videos here to take its beauty with them. This is the main reason why CN Tower remained trendy last month for a few days.
