The Coronavirus Pandemic has led to discontentment and panic among people. Many are ill-informed about the changes made by the government. Take the tax declaration turns, for example, and the tax returns date.
The W-2 form is also known as the Wage and tax statement, and it is the document an employer is required to send to each employee and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at the end of the year. This document contains the details about an employee’s annual wages and the amount of taxes withheld from their paychecks.
Every employer must give them to their employees. If your employer failed to give it to you this year, and there have been no changes in your situation, then you can request the IRS and get a w2 online copy of your last W2 Form. It will work as well.
Due to the pandemic, tax reporting has changed this year. This year it began on April 20, not on 9th. And the reporting deadlines have also been extended to June because of the late start date. Postal deadlines are likely to lengthen because of the transportation restrictions, but you can file online if you want.
The deadline is different for various departments, departments numbered from 01 to 19 thus have until Thursday, June 4, 2020, at midnight. Other from 20 to 54 have until Monday June 8, at midnight also. And the departments 55 to 976, have until Thursday, June 11, 2020, till midnight as well.
Those who have no changes in their situation can benefit from the automatic declaration. While others who have had alterations, have to report, complete and sign the tax return as usual.
