With all tours and events grounded because of the coronavirus, artists have been using livestreaming to stay close to their fans. Now, superstar DJ and producer Diego Maciel has figured out a way to play for real people and fans online – plus raise awareness for COVID-19 relief in the process.
Whether he’s behind the decks or behind the scenes, Diego is one of those people who simply makes things happen. An Uruguayan native who’s now travels around South America. Diego was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. The 24-year-old started playing music when he was only fourteen and now a days deejays in largest music festivals around South America.
Saturday night at 5 p.m. UTC-3, Diego will stream a 90-minute set live from Montevideo, Uruguay. He’ll be set up right in between several huge towers, so people can hear him from their balconies. From one of the tallest buildings in Uruguay, on the runway of a heliport, with a great view of the bay of Montevideo city, Diego will play unique songs. Local artists will participate in the event and the purpose of the initiative is to share a message of awareness of the fight against COVID-19 globally.
While he’s looking forward to the return of live performances – which he thinks won’t happen until some time – he’s keeping busy working out, producing songs and, believe it or not, studying business administration.
Get ready for a party in your living room with Diego Maciel during quarantine.
