One of the great privileges of running a small business is serving community organizations and charitable causes. Today many businesses share their success by giving money, products, volunteer hours and charitable outreach efforts to good causes in their communities. Nonprofits and charities provide big benefits to business. Shai Goldstein, a passionate businessman, aspired to facilitate community service and found great pleasure in giving charitable donations and support to the needy.
Meet Shai Goldstein
Born in Israel, Goldstein was raised with the spirit of hard work and community service. His father is a rabbi who has organized countless fundraisers and raised millions of dollars for charity throughout the years. Sharing his passion for charitable purposes, Goldstein elucidated that from an early age he was a compassionate person. As a young boy, Goldstein was willing to devote his time and money to serve humanity. He worked alongside a technician fixing refrigerators, and air conditioning. “I loved that job — all day I met people and listened to their issues and problems.” Goldstein reiterated. Since then, he discovered that he was a great listener, and ultimately decided to render voluntary services.
Further elucidating his passion and struggle to achieve his goal, Goldstein stated that in the year, 1996 Goldstein’s family moved to Florida from Israel. Goldstein befriended an elderly man named George. George did not know how to drive so Goldstein volunteered to teach him the driver’s education manual. George had a very tough time comprehending the information in the handbook. It was the moment Goldstein thought of a novel approach, helpful for driver’s education.
“My entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and I decided to establish an animated driver’s handbook. I turned to my father, who has a lot of experience in the nonprofit world. He advised me to go with a nonprofit that it will help people connect to each other.”
Pioneering Efforts by Goldstein to Initiate for Non-Project Ventures
To establish a nonprofit venture, Goldstein passionately got involved in his new endeavor by searching for accountants and lawyers who could assist him with accomplishing nonprofit projects. It was a challenging task since most accountants and lawyers had little or no information and experience with nonprofits, so they felt reluctant to get involved in a time consuming and complex process. Having faced all hurdles and ordeals on his way to set up his personal nonprofit service, he made serious efforts. All the back-and-forth took another six months. Ultimately, he was able to open his first nonprofit, Animated Driver’s Ed. Though it was a stressful experience, it helped him identify the great need to establish nonprofit service that aspire to bring a positive change in the society through volunteer work.
The Need to Establish A2Z Filings
Goldstein realized there was a great need for a service that would work with the clients and ensure that nonprofits could be approved as quickly as possible, without problems, issues, or unnecessary complications. Goldstein spent six months doing research and learning everything he needed to know about setting up nonprofits. He took assistance from the IRS. With their help, Goldstein taught himself about grants and grant-making organizations. The next crucial step was to find somebody that could help with paperwork.
Goldstein Recalled,
“It took me almost a year to be recognized by the IRS, and it cost a lot of money. I kept calling the IRS and asking them why it was taking so long. They told me they have a lot of applications to work through and that it could take up to six months. They also told me there is no guarantee that they will approve it. Not surprisingly, they found issues and problems with my application. I began a lengthy correspondence with the IRS.”
Goldstein took help from Nathan Glueck, a knowledgeable writer and psychotherapist who partnered up with me. Nathan is a professional writer and a problem-solver. Glueck previously volunteered his time to help many community activists, social workers, religious leaders and concerned citizens. Since the founding documents required a specific language to be accepted, Glueck employed the required technical writing for the application. Consequently, A2Z Filings received positive feedback from the IRS regarding the high quality of the work.
Within six months, he dedicatedly worked to set up his own nonprofit organizations. The purpose of creating a nonprofit company is to help solve the complex social issues of the masses. Finally, A2Z Filings was born, with its mission to create a positive impact on the global community. The company is capable of handling everything from “A to Z”. By supporting a charity, A2Z Filings aim to spread the word about company’s values and intentions, and help introduced to new customers who are involved with the nonprofit organization.
As stated by Goldstein,
“My dream when I was young was to help people all around the world, but I had no idea how to make it happen. Then, I realized that through A2Z Filings, I could really help the masses.”
Setting up hundreds of diverse organizations across the US – from museums, synagogues, and community centers to homeless shelters, halfway houses, and diaper banks. Internationally, Goldstein has been involved in social services such as helping people have access to clean water in Nigeria. He has also opened unique nonprofits. “Praise 4 Healing in Huntington” was established in New York. Its mission was to bring music and singing to people that are sick in hospitals.
Goldstein still relies on his skills as a patient listener and becomes a confidant for his clients and potential clients as they share their dreams and their struggles with him. As a result, people come to trust him quickly as he guides them through every step of the process. Thus, A2Z Filings comes as a personal win to Goldstein. It was established to help people, spread positivity, give people a sense of purpose, and contribute to society’s betterment.
