Star Bahati is an experienced professional makeup artist with over 23 years of experience under her belt. She is celebrated as one of the industry’s best and is one of the go-to artists for TV shows and editorial and commercial shoots.

Her journey in the cosmetics industry began at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College of Cosmetology. Star’s earliest jobs in the industry were with major cosmetic brands, including MAC Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, and Prescriptive. She also worked as a manager at Sephora and had a hand in its expansion when it opened the Santa Monica store. The experience and knowledge she accumulated from her education, working for these brands, and later the multiple training workshops she attended to hone her skills laid the foundation for the empire she built today.

In the year 2001, the time came for Star Bahati to launch her own business, and thus, Star 4 Makeup, Inc was born. She later moved to Kohn, Germany, and provided makeovers for international acts from the United States. Today, with 23 years’ worth of skill and techniques in her arsenal, she is considered one of the best in the industry.

It has become quite common for her to work with TV networks MTV and VH1. Her current projects, in fact, are MTV’s Ridiculousness and VH1’s Basketball Wives, which are two of the most popular TV shows today. Some other projects she worked with in the past are TV One’s R&B Diva Season 2 and VH1 ‘s Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood Season 2.

In addition to these TV shows, she is also the lead makeup artist for The Black Family Channels Television show, Global Cinema TV. At this point, she had been able to work with different moods, themes, demands, events, and facial structures. As a person continually seeking growth, she values all these experiences and treats them as learning opportunities to perfect her craft.

Star Bahati had recently been able to do hair and makeup on Nichelle Nichols of Star Trek, and it had been one of her most exciting projects in a while. She works her magic backstage, and she creates dramatic theatrical looks with her arsenal of makeup brushes as her wands.

The success that Star has met in the industry is unsurprising if you knew her family. As if a gene for success can be inherited, she has three siblings who are all successful in their respective fields. She has a sister who is a professional dancer, a brother who is a professional cyclist, and another brother who is world-renowned DJ SB.

Star Bahati is a black woman who is changing the game in the industry of beauty. With her hunger for growth and dedication to the mastery of the ever-evolving craft of beauty and cosmetics, she continues to improve with every project she takes on. Today, one of the projects she is working on is creating a mentorship program that will teach girls about cosmetics and guide them through the process of becoming professionals.

Star has found her passion for the art of beauty, and she is relentless in her journey to mastery. To learn more about Star, visit her website.
