Domestic abuse is a pattern of behavior in which one person in a relationship dominates the other, using power and force to control. Whether emotional, psychological, financial, sexual, or physical violence, this type of act poses a serious threat to one’s wellbeing.
Myra Fordham is a survivor of domestic abuse. She suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of being punched in the head by her boyfriend at the time, who became infuriated after seeing a text message on her phone.
This life-altering incident happened at Myra’s home in Darwin, Australia, in 2016. She spent 11 days in an induced coma, followed by brain surgery, and weeks in hospital for rehabilitation.
Myra committed to undergoing a healing process to overcome her pain and trauma of domestic abuse and child abuse. First, she recognized that she had to leave the relationship, stating, “I learned that I didn’t have to be a victim of my past and that I didn’t have to stay in an abusive, toxic, unhealthy relationship.” Despite the pain, she knew she needed to go through it so she could go on to reach her purpose in life and help others heal. Now Myra is Australia’s #1 Trauma Coach for women, helping them overcome their past trauma to become happy and free.
In recent months, Myra Fordham has pushed past the limits of her mind. She shared, “In the past three months, I’ve hit a milestone in business reaching 5 figure months, beat imposter syndrome, gained my 1st ever male client and international client, became an international best selling author, invested into my business and personal development, completed my Certificate III in Business, and healed generational and genealogical trauma.”
She no longer chooses to be a victim of her past and no longer desires to be bound by pain. Now that she has regained a sense of purpose in her own life, she is committed to helping others do the same.
One of Myra Fordham’s clients felt held back by repeated thought patterns that were not serving her. After completing Myra’s 6-week course, “The Boss Lady Break Through,” she was able to break past her limiting beliefs, where she began to finally believe in herself and her ability to turn her dreams into a reality. Her client shares, “I can now say that I have risen above my issues which have been holding me back for way too long. I am also no longer struggling with past traumas that contributed to my mental health struggles.”
Many trauma sufferers have a deep desire to bring a sense of normality back into their lives so they can go on to fulfill their dreams, but very few truly believe that they can overcome their trauma. Myra is living proof that anything is possible with the right support network.
