It is a shared human desire to continue to look and feel good while aging. Yet, there is often a kind of stigma surrounding discussions of beauty and sexuality for the elderly. As people age, they are often expected to instead exhibit a sort of stately modesty in contrast to open displays of sexuality that is expected and widely accepted by the youth. As a result, those facing the problems of aging often find themselves at a loss regarding personal and professional outlets with which they may discuss and resolve such concerns.
This becomes a significant problem as aging also comes with a wide variety of changes related to a person’s lifestyle and physiology. Along with the rigors of one’s career and raising a family, the troubles of aging begin to bear down on a person’s overall health. These changes are even more of an issue for women due to challenges related to pregnancy and childbirth. As a result of these and the factors stated above, those at an advanced age often find themselves with various age-related problems regarding overall health, wellness, and sexual function with little in the way of a professional support system.
With his previous specialization in the field of obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), Dr. Mark X. Lowney experienced firsthand how his patients would bring up such problems in their normal course of check-ups related to pregnancy and reproductive health. Initially drawn to the field through his desire to support women and couples bringing new life into the world as well as ensure that women received effective preventative gynecological care, his experiences with his patients would soon draw him to fields much wider than his original practice.
Some of the most common concerns Dr. Lowney received from his patients involved questions about the impact of childbirth and aging on health, perceptions of their overall wellness and appearance, and even changes in the frequency and quality of intimacy through pregnancy, childbirth, and aging. Realizing his initial training left him without a comprehensive response to many of these concerns drove Dr. Lowney to expand his knowledge further. In time, he became an expert on cosmetic surgery, age management, and sexual wellness for both men and women. He saw his additional fields of expertise as a means to help a larger number of people enhance their long-term quality of life.
Today, Dr. Lowney is the only physician in New England who has received board certification in both obstetrics and gynecology, as well as cosmetic surgery. With his former OB/GYN practice Highland Obstetrics and Gynecology, Inc. achieving renown as the most successful in Southern Massachusetts, Dr. Lowney was able to expand his practice, much to the relief of thousands of clients.
Established in 2009, Advanced Body Sculpting of New England helps both male and female patients feel better about their appearance and sexual wellness through high-quality cosmetic surgery. With over 5,000 successful cosmetic procedures performed, Dr. Lowney’s services have garnered wide acclaim, with some of his patients even coming from as far as the Middle East.
To complement the above services, Dr. Lowney established StudioEros in 2018 as a clinic specializing in anti-aging, regenerative medicine, and sexual wellness. The clinic prides itself on its innovative approach that uses a modernized take on western medicine combined with complementary therapies that focus on emphasizing the body’s natural healing abilities. The StudioEros holistic approach to treatment helps patients find the perfect balance to sustain a high quality of life.
Dr. Lowney’s latest practice is a joint venture between Advanced Body Sculpting and the Lip Bunny Beauty Medical Spa established in 2019. Through these three practices, Dr. Lowney aims to offer comprehensive services by which anyone, regardless of age and gender, may improve and maintain their quality of life simply by looking and feeling like the best version of themselves.
