After successfully running multiple thriving businesses, Jamilla Phillip is moving from creating her own businesses to teaching others how to start their businesses. As a serial entrepreneur, Jamilla has created the IDEAL Project, Jam’s Cakes, and JP’s Keys to Entrepreneurship School. These three programs teach aspiring and existing businesses on how to start and grow a successful enterprise.
Jamilla first experienced success as an edible art instructor. Soon after, she opened a cake decorating company called Jam’s Cakes in her hometown of New York. Her business thrived as she grew her clientele over the years. Today, she is a sought after cake decorator. On top of her cake business, Jamilla also runs a successful psychotherapy practice called The Peaceful Practice. As a licensed psychotherapist, Jamilla Phillip helps people through therapy sessions, meditation, and other mental health and emotional resilience-building services.
Soon after, Jamilla achieved national growth through her feature in Cake Masters Magazine. This cake decorating expert has also participated in various cake competitions including an appearance on Food Network. From that point on, it was all uphill for Jamilla. Her small cake boutique turned into a confectionary empire that was making over six figures in annual revenue.
Jam’s Cakes’ success would lead Jamilla Phillip to start Jam’s Cakes Online Academy, a learning platform that teaches people how to decorate cakes, sculpt edible artwork, and run a successful cake business. As the online platform grew, Jamilla would discover ways to continue teaching her cake and business principles to others.
Jamilla Phillip would also start a program called the IDEAL project, which “inspires developing entrepreneurs and leaders.” The program provides mentorship to teenagers who want to overcome their fears and woes and become entrepreneurs themselves. The IDEAL project is open to kids ages twelve to sixteen years old. The program exposes youth to top business owners, psychotherapists, licensed social workers, and mentors. Jamilla hopes that the program will create five hundred young entrepreneurs by the year 2022.
Jamilla Phillip’s drive to create entrepreneurs has also driven her to start JP’s Keys to Entrepreneurship. The concept came to Jamilla after she realized how scarce resources for small businesses were. She decided to create a business resource to provide ideas, strategies, lessons, and best practices to small business owners. The school is gearing up for an October 2020 opening and will include an array of short courses that any small business owner and entrepreneur can enroll in.
Whether she is teaching cake decorating or entrepreneurship, running her business, or helping clients through their mental issues, Jamilla is always passionate. She gives one hundred percent and beyond in all she does, always seeking to give as much value as she can to the people she serves.
Jamilla Phillip has dedicated her life to seeing other people succeed. Through her work, hundreds of small enterprises have experienced tremendous success through her teachings and guidance. She has only just begun. Each day, Jamilla works harder to keep adding value in people’s lives through her work, content, and training.
