IPL 2020 is going to take place in UAE in the month of September and it will begin from September 18. Due to the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, IPL 2020 is moved to UAE. After carrying out a discussion via video conferencing, the Indian Premier League Governing Committee (IPL GC) took this decision.

The T20 tournament could not be held in April 2020 as the number of coronavirus cases was rising in the April month. And the country was under complete lockdown to contain the deadly coronavirus. Since the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup are postponed due to Covid-19, the time slot between September 18 and November 10 is allotted for IPL 2020 tournament.
