IPL 2020 is going to take place in UAE in the month of September and it will begin from September 18. Due to the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, IPL 2020 is moved to UAE. After carrying out a discussion via video conferencing, the Indian Premier League Governing Committee (IPL GC) took this decision.
The T20 tournament could not be held in April 2020 as the number of coronavirus cases was rising in the April month. And the country was under complete lockdown to contain the deadly coronavirus. Since the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup are postponed due to Covid-19, the time slot between September 18 and November 10 is allotted for IPL 2020 tournament.
Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) got approval to take IPL this year to UAE. And the IPL franchises have already started preparing for the T20 tournament. This will be the 13th season of the IPL and people are now eagerly waiting for it to happen.
They are searching for the IPL schedule on the web to know about the schedule of different matches. Unlike the previous years, the IPL matches will start at 7:30 pm IST in UAE as opposed to the last year’s standard time of 8 PM. The 44 days long tournament will contain 70 matches including playoffs and finals.
Since the announcement for this year’s IPL, people are expressing their excitement for the tournament and they are waiting for the complete schedule of matches. Many sports experts have addressed that IPL 2020 will add entertainment to the lives of people who are getting bored amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
