You might have heard of Henok (known as Henny) Yeshanew. He is the founder of Lion Marketing, a company which has been awarded Top Marketing Agency in Ontario in 2018 and 2019 by the Canada Business Awards, only two years after Henny started the company in 2016.
He was also recently the recipient of a Top 40 Under 40 award, and with his company Lion Marketing quickly climbing the ranks of the Canadian marketing scene, it’s no surprise. Henny has also received business leadership awards for his success with his marketing agency, and is gaining recognition for his community work with youth development. And despite all of his accomplishments, he is only 24 years old.
Stick To What You Believe In
Henny has become a marketing expert through both university-level schooling and many years in the industry. But he wasn’t always on the same path. In his last year of undergrad, he knew that becoming a lawyer was not his true passion, so instead decided to pursue a life of community betterment through applying his knowledge and expertise in marketing to help underprivileged communities.
Known as the happiest person in any room, Henny believes the power of community and building genuine connections in the business world. He preaches travelling as a tool for widening your scope and gaining new experiences to learn and grow from.
What is Lion Marketing?
He has now built a strong team with Lion Marketing who are consistently high performing, and his array of awards gained in the past couple of years prove his dedication to his work. As well as marketing, he has gone on to contribute to many other not-for-profit ventures, such as FiftyForFree Organization, Ambition Conference, and his position on the panel of Entrepreneur Pitch Competition.
Henny’s true calling to give back to struggling communities has been shining in recent months, as he and his team have been launching a programme which will help small businesses adapt their services into an online product. This is in order to assist them in transitioning into online business in order to adapt to the ‘new normal’. Lion Marketing will furthermore help said businesses to create and implement a new marketing strategy. Henny mentioned about his motives for this work, “we understand that businesses have been accustomed to dealing with customers through in-person experiences, and we wanted to teach them that they can do the same thing using their online presence.”
This program is even available for free to all small businesses based in the United States, who have been impacted the most due to strict government lockdowns and consequent lack of consumers in their stores. With the goal of empowering small businesses to learn, survive and even grow throughout this pandemic, it’s clear that Lion Marketing and Henny will be around and prospering for years to come.
