“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney
What sets human apart from any other living thing in the world are the human ambitions. No matter how hard time it is, no matter how bad the conditions are, a human with ambitions and a strong will to do so will eventually overcome them. Steven McCoy is a classic example of such human being.
Steven never had a privileged childhood and growing up he suffers from retinitis Pigmentosa, which made him legally blind. It got even worse due to usher syndrome, which requires him to always wear hearing aid. Like many other people of color Steven also faced racism and discrimination too due to his condition. Despite the difficulties, Steven thinks there is still beauty in people and while bad people are out there you will eventually good ones and with that a ray of hope. You have to keep going anticipating this ray of hope.
Steven started his career with Walt Disney in Orlando as intern, later working for Disney theatrical productions. He was also an “Angel” for Disney’s charity program called “VoluntEARS”. Later he transitioned to scriptwriter for BET Network’s “106th and Park”. His company Spoken Entertainment LLC is actively involve in creating online content featuring interviews with high profiled public figures, celebrities and covering red carpets and virtual online events. He is also launching his own book which is culmination of his struggles and life lessons. Recently Steven and his family hosted Christmas giveaways for poor and children. The lesson we can learn from life story of Steven is that there will always a person who is less fortunate or faced greater difficulties in life then us, if that person can succeed then why can’t we.
