Talent management is an integral part of a healthy organisation on many levels. Competition is fierce in today’s corporate world, with many HR professionals agreeing that there’s an ongoing “war for talent” “With the current war on talent, if you want to attract and retain top performers, you have to get the talent management piece right,” People are your largest asset and what will make you successful. If you’re not leveraging your people properly, if you don’t have a people strategy that aligns with your business strategy, you’re leaving your business results up to chance.”.
Boosting a huge a catalog of top talents , They surely have made their name as an agency that grew from ground zero to being one of the preferred brand for multiple artists. Today we got a chance to sit down with the heads of “PRYSM TALENT AGENCY” who’s quick growth via strategic
/ tactical planing and executions , love for the music industry has made them a leading agency in this field
- Hello , Thanks for sitting down with me today for this interview. How was PYRSM TALENT AGENCY born ? What were the goals and ambitions that were attached to this project?
PRYSM – Prysm Talent Agency was born in late 2019 with the vision of changing the status quo of how talent agencies operate. One of our biggest goals during development was to find common problems that artists faced when working with agencies and build how we operate off of providing a solution. As we develop to fit our artists needs, their careers become easier to manage and maintain and that’s led to the many healthy business relationships we have with our roster to date.
2) Currently I see 4 heads at the agency , just wanting you to write what roles and what they individually handle within the organisation.
PRYSM – Colton Anderson is our CEO and is the founding father of the company itself, he also works directly with all of our agents to coordinate the bigger-picture movements in that department. Justin Lizama is our CFO and he makes sure that we’re headed in the right direction with our internal development, also he provides stellar consultations to our agents and artists that help them develop further. Paul Yu Asensi is our COO but he also handles a lot of the creative direction of the agency including graphics, website programming, anything that helps our company look its absolute best. My name is Lance Dean and I’m
our CMO, always looking for the next good marketing move to get our artists names out there as well as our own – I also handle communications with our entire roster to make sure that our artists have a handle on everything.
3) I am told you are handling work for 50+ artists , how do you guys manage to work around such a large roster and maintain the same amount of bookings for all of them ? Just asking this as it talks about how exactly your management is working since a management is key to success.
PRYSM – Our roster has actually grown tremendously since we spoke on that! We’re sitting at over 70 artists working with us exclusively with 5+ to be announced in the coming weeks. We have a team of hard-working agents that are constantly on the hunt for opportunities for our artists and they put in tremendous amounts of hours doing that, but our artists are also constantly working to develop their projects and that combination has led to all of the opportunities we’ve been presented with as of late. It’s turned into this harmonious relationship that has been built on the premise of “everybody works hard, everybody eats.”
4) We have seen a huge amount of growth since you have started. What are the key factors and points that you and your team focused on to get this brand on top ?
PRYSM – We’ve had to do a lot of development on the fly, as most of our initial development took place during the pandemic – a time where there were no shows. We had no way to test our business model and make sure that the way we had things set up even worked so when the flood gates opened, adaptability is something we had to become very familiar with very quickly. Identifying problems in real time and being attentive towards finding solutions quickly played a huge role in us steering towards the path of success and that’s always been something we’ve championed.
5) What’s coming up in the future?
Lots of things to come in the future! For starters, we will continue to rapidly grow our roster in the booking realm. Beyond that, we’ve got so many things we’re building into such as a record label, sync licensing for our artists, managing artists outside of handling their bookings alone, we plan to expand into many realms within the music industry. In addition to those things we are forming an international booking division, planning Prysm artist showcases nationally (and eventually internationally), all while hiring new agents and offering intern programs for aspiring music business students. We want our artists to be able to truly think of us as a one-stop-shop for all their needs.
