Serial entrepreneur Ché LaRhue could not let quarantine go by without coming up with a cool new invention. Stuck at home, she took the time to reinvent the classic board game. Taking inspiration from quarantine boredom, she created “bored” games—a humorous twist on the classic game to liven up all the post-isolation parties.
Bored as F**k, her “bored” games company, has created four games so far. The eponymous flagship product is a speed-based strategy game perfect even for just two players. Who’s Got Jokes? is a humorous, joke-filled battle of wits inspired by their Instagram meme page. Say It Ain’t So! is a game of truth and twisted but funny consequences. The “Greatest” Bored Game is a drinking game that features hilarious tasks to make the most unforgettable night out with friends.
Sharee Jones, a.ka. Ché LaRhue has always been on the creative side. She is a published author, public speaker, entrepreneur, and a master coach.
In quarantine, Ché started hosting Airbnb comedy workshops to virtually socialize with other people and improve her performances. She has also become a fan of viral TikTok challenges—the very inspiration for Bored as F**k. Her next move for the company is an app to go with her games, which will be released in the summer of 2020. To help COVID-19 relief, Bored as F**k will donate 5 percent of all net proceeds from each purchase to Direct Relief, a leading humanitarian organization in the fight against the pandemic.
Through her games, she hopes that she can create the perfect opportunity to unite people from all walks of life, share some laughs, make new friends, and build a strong community that sticks together when boredom sets in.
Ché’s writing career has been flourishing in quarantine. In her latest book, she details all the lessons that she has learned the hard way in her adult life. Her new book is called Comprehensive Guide to All the Sh*t They Didn’t Teach You in School. The book features advice on staying happy, making money, and keeping one’s peace of mind. With this guide, she hopes people can learn from her lessons on how to live a happy, healthy, and productive life.
Her breakthrough as an author was A Diva’s Guide to Surviving a Recession, which she published in September 2009. The book features Jane, an out-of-work marketing specialist trying to survive through a recession. Ché is happy to announce that the book will be adapted into a short film for Amazon under the production company BPG Film and Television.
She has also written the children’s book series Anne Can!, The Nice Nice Book, and Bully Me, Bully Me Not. Teaching children early life lessons is a passion of hers. She believes that early education will help them go far in life.
This year, she plans to publish How I Got Here, a memoir and self-help type of book that talks about her struggles toward success. Ché is not a stranger to difficult times. She lost her career as a carpenter after suffering a horrible back injury and had to start all over again. Her career as an entrepreneur has also been filled with rejections and difficulties, but she continues to rise above it all. She hopes that with her latest book, she can inspire people to overcome their obstacles and surpass their limits.
