There are many factors that come as a hindrance and create hurdles in one’s life, especially for women. The system, the processes, the history, and personalities create many obstacles that block women from getting ahead and achieving greatness. Alongside these factors, one personal block can be a lack of confidence in speaking up or promoting oneself. These factors are major reasons why dis-empowerment is on the rise for women. Recognizing these negative factors and providing effective evidence-based ways to turn this around, is what Elizabeth and Christine are working on, through their coaching entity WALT Institute.
Both Elizabeth and Christine have gone through major turbulence in their lives when they were young. Elizabeth has lived through it all, from being bullied at school to getting physically abused, she has faced the worst of times. She overcame her past traumas of life to rise up and make a career as an occupational therapist and researcher. Today she is a published author in international academic journals, ABC News Australia and Thrive Global and also a skilled presenter and a recognized keynote speaker who towers above all. She has indeed come up fighting all odds and her story is a fine example that shows that one can rise like a phoenix from the ashes with strong determination and willpower. On the other hand, Christine has also gone through the worst phase of her life when a couple of years back she was diagnosed with cancer. She fought it all bravely with optimism and hope and emerged as a champion.
When asked about her life as a youngster she says “I was always the shy and reserved child who was afraid to come out of her shell, learning everything the hard way.” However going ahead she emerged as an elite sportsperson representing New Zealand in indoor hockey for 13 long years, including 4 years as a team captain. She graduated from University with expertise in psychology, sports psychology, exercise science, and business management. She has also published articles in Thrive Global and is currently on her way to publishing her book ‘Limitless possibilities: Finding a way through adversity’.
The major objective of founding WALT Institute was to empower women in STEMM (Science Technology Engineering Math Medicine) through coaching and training. The programs are designed specifically for skilled academics, researchers and executives, who lack confidence and self-belief. The duo coaches and trains people to realize and unleash their inbuilt potential. Their programs have changed the lives of many, enabling them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Through their high-impact training programs, Elizabeth Pritchard and Christine Burns are determined to boost women to believe in themselves, step into their personal power, and reach for the top of their careers.
