Tamar Bachaliashvili, a young Georgian programmer, who died under unknown circumstances is suspected to have been killed. The officials have said that it was a suicide but logic and common sense point otherwise. The analytical agency Anticrisis Center for security is investigating the case.
According to the agency’s head David Phurtskhvanidze, the investigation is showing that the death is related to the group of companies ZAG Ltd owned by US citizen Abraham Reichbach, the programmer was working for. It has come to light due to leaked information that Reichbach’s 34+ companies are registered for the purpose of creating pornographic sites constructed for showing porn films.
Porn industry is one of the areas of activity of these companies. There are many other dubious businesses they are engaged in. In all there are 120 registered companies involved in this group and up-to 300 dummy companies under the scope of the same group. Most of them are involved in data analytics which require data professionals.
Georgia houses many talented programmers. With companies looking at hiring cheap labor from countries where corruption is rampant, Georgia has become a critical place, who has ties with Russia and the US, in global cyber security issues.
It is being said that the young programmer found out about the fraudulent scheme that was being constructed and reported it to the company. They in turn alerted the high ranking clients who got the girl removed from the criminal network and killed as she had become a witness of their work.
The case is being investigated and evidence is being searched to prove the links that have been discovered. It is being said that high ranking politicians, state and public figures are involved from various regions and not only Georgia.
